We chose this cruise as it was perfect timing for our holiday in Japan. Our second princess cruise and we were excited for the adventure. From embarkation to the awful dining experiences our excitement soon evaporated.
Arriving at Yokohama ($170 taxi ride from Tokyo ) our bags were swiftly taken out of sight, our passports shown and our vaccination verification and we were rushed to a waiting ...
Overall, a wonderful experience. The itinerary was great, and we enjoyed all of the ports and excursions. We felt blessed to see peak sakura blooms at Hirosaki Castle in Aomori, and wandering Kanazawa on our own was a highlight.
The send-offs and performances from the locals at each port during sailaways are not to be missed. Really, truly lovely and touching. You must make sure to be out on ...
The ship was nice and the captain actually made time each day to walk around and speak to the passengers. I also liked the way the captain kept the ship informed each day with daily updates from the bridge on weather and port calls.
The ship does cater to travelers from Japan. The food on the buffet was around 40% Japanese food and about the same in the main dining room. I would say the food ...
We have cruised many times on Princess and were looking forward to a much-needed rest and in my case a break. The balcony cabin was comfortable and turned out to be a godsend as we contracted Covid for the 1st time, in spite of having our vaccinations up to date, and had to isolate for 5 days. Anti-virals were available and dining room meals were delivered to our cabin, as well as our cabin being ...
I went on this cruise as a precursor to going on the Grand Princess to Alaska. I am taking some friends with us to Alaska and wanted to see how these older ships compare to the newest ones, and the Diamond happens be in the older category. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well maintained the Diamond is. My last Princess cruise was on the Royal 3 years ago and though it was one of the newer ...
We chose this as our bucket list cruise around the world. First the two items that were positive about this cruise:
1.The cabin stewards and the personnel in the Horizon Cafe were terrific when it came to service
2.The Horizon Cafe Buffet had a great selection of food which was well prepared and had a tremendous variety.
Unfortunately those are the only god things I can report about this ...
Chose the Ft. Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale world cruise for the excellent scheduled itinerary. Was a bit concerned about the reconfiguration of the ship that replaced the aft lounge with additional cabins. Also concerned about general age and condition of ship based on reviews.
The delivered itinerary exceeded expectations, even with a number of ports cancelled due to weather. Princess ...
A World Cruise (WC) was on my bucket list and Princess is our preferred Cruise Line (4 of us). This was NOT a cruise I would repeat nor recommend. The Island Princess is old and needs A LOT of repairs - rust, mildew, mold, water leaks, cabin entry doors not opening and more. All major safety issues - I worked in Transportation Safety for over 20 years and Island is NOT a safe ship unless it has ...
We booked our World Cruise while on Antartica cruise 2020 on the Coral Princess. We had such a good time we decided to book the World Cruise 2021. The cruise was pushed to 2023 due to covid. Island Princess was rusty from the day we boarded Jan05. The entire ship was rusty. The sea witch logo was crying rust tears. The menu in the dining for 111 days never changed. We never had a hot meal. The ...
