COVID-19 concerns and changes

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

We purchased this cruise on the Princess Cruises assurance that immunizations and masks would be required. Immunization cards can easily purchased online so masking is crucial. Reality is that masking was only SUGGESTED and about 80% of passengers were UNMASKED by the end of the cruise. Shocking irresponsibility on the part of Princess. Elevators were shoulder to shoulder, and if one waited for ...

We chose to cruise on the Majestic Princess to Alaska because it was a fully vaccinated cruise. No one without proof of vaccination allowed on board, including children. The ports of call were Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, and Ketchikan. All were beautiful with little to no rain. We saw salmon running up stream in Skagway and several receding glaciers in Glacier Bay, but we enjoyed Ketchikan the ...

I chose this particular cruise because with COVID we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the country. We also didn’t agree with the cruise industry being the only industry shut down 100% so we decided at that time to book a cruise to Alaska. With that said I referred to my travel agent for recommendations. He suggested Princess so we took his suggestion. The ship is beautiful, the crew was amazing ...

This cruise was thumb's up all all the way. Nothing to complain about - just raving. Using the Medallion made the cruise so much easier. It's a lark to walk up to a bar or dining room and be greeted with "Hello Rufus and Shirley". The food was great, the dining room staff went the "extra mile" to cater to our needs. And the room attendant Marilyn, she was just too terrific. After this cruise I ...

We were originally booked and paid in full, on a Celebrity Edge cruise from Ft. Lauderdale, 45 minutes from our home, but cancelled when vaccinations not being required or assured in Florida, and instead flew 3625 miles to Seattle and switched to this cruise. On board the Inaugural Princess Cruise, first to Sail from USA and Maiden Cruise to Alaska for Majestic, July 25 -August 1. The cruise was ...

We are a limited capacity cruise with 64% of capacity on board ! Never once did we feel unsafe on this cruise and with a year and a half to prepare, the ship was spotless. The only way you knew you were in a covid environment was at the buffet as we were served. The crew were genuinely happy to see us and greet us. Not the canned kind, these had the glint in their eyes that you ...

We wanted to be part of the Princess restart and we wanted to visit Alaska again. The crew, staff, and ports of call could not have been more accommodating, welcoming, or appreciative of the passengers! Since we had had completed the “Ocean Ready” process on the new Princess Medallion application our embarkation could not have been smoother or quicker! We showed our passports, Covid ...

We had a fabulous week to Alaska on Princess's very first cruise since returning to operation. The crew was as thrilled as we were to finally be on a cruise, after all of the cancellations and rescheduling of the past 18 months. Princess was ready. They used the time away to fine tune Ocean Medallion, which is truly amazing. What a game changer! The food in Club Class was outstanding. We had ...

Wanted very much to get back to cruising. Medallion comments This app is very slow The immigration info is hard to enter. Use a MM/DD/YYY form instead of a scrolling date Some selections on the app didn’t work like Dining and the ships position and the ship’s course seemed to be stuck at 11.8 knots and 110 degrees forever. It took 27 minutes to get a martini delivered to our table. The ...

Inaugural cruise post pandemic

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

Had the chance to jump on the first Princess cruise post pandemic and it was awesome. There were plenty of first cruise glitches and we were on the younger side of the norm which is why I gave a four star rating but other than that the service and destinations were well worth all the hiccups. Make sure if you go on a Princess cruise you take time to go to Good Spirits Bar and have a Butterfly ...
