Due to family connections Malta is a regular destination for us. So a cruise around the med sailing from Malta meant we could combine 2 trips together. The boarding process was well organised and straight forward. The Azura is an older P &O ship and is showing signs of age. The cabin was clean and tidy and staff very helpful. We were in a forward cabin and the allocated restaurant was at the very ...
No fly from southampton appealed to me. Embarkment and coach transvers very good.
Front line staff (waiters restaurants / buffets) all bar staff. Very professional with overall good service.
Inside cabin very clean with good attendant.
Food in complementary restaurants poor. Food in the buffet very good with quality meats etc.
First 3 days at sea just piped music no live entertainment ...
This was our 4th P & O cruise but first on Ventura. Yes things have changed since Covid and yes the ship is one of their older ones in the fleet but we had a lovely time on our 14 night Canaries trip. We had a large balcony, room was clean and tidy and bed comfortable but appreciate the balcony itself could have done with a spruce up. Service of our rooms was great with ice bucket filled ...
Have recently returned from P&O cruise on Ventura to Canary Islands Having been on this ship twice before, and having cruised with P&O for the last 10 years, there has been a marked decline in standards. There is less staff in all areas and they were less experienced.
The buffet was disorganised, no trays for carrying food which posed a safety issue while carrying hot plates. Tables left ...
Having only been on one cruise before (Royal Caribbean), we chose P&O this time round because several friends and family had recommended them, and we hoped there would be a lot fewer kids on board compared to our RC experience.
We were actually really surprised at how low quality the P&O product was in comparison.
The food was, at best, mediocre. Dinners at the Freedom Dining restaurants ...
We have been on several cruises with P&O on ships Azura, Britannia, Arcadia & Aurora and this was our first cruise on the Ventura.
I will start with the nice things first The food and staff in the Epicurian, Beach House and Glasshouse was excellent but you paid extra for this service. Reception, the Butler and Cabin steward also did an excellent job.
But this was our worst ever cruise it ...
Not the best cruise ,done Royal Carribean few times ,and Tui this is by far the worst one
Food is awful and not enough space to move about in the buffet with their trolleys and electric wheelchairs
No where is the food as good as Royal Carribean for choice or quality of food ,thought Tui food on offer in buffets was basic , this is much worse
Don't cater that well if you ...
Set sail on the 20th of May for a week, Multigenerational holiday. Our 2nd time on Ventura and will be the last. Very noticeable changes in a lot of areas since last sailing. Since our last sailing we were informed that Ventura was going to dry dock for refurb, this however was not the case as mostly this was for re painting and engine maintenance. The only obvious refurb was new carpet to some ...
I have been on several cruises before with P and O, and Royal Caribbean.
Overall -
There were a few good aspects, but I would not sail on the Azura again. It felt like a cut-down, budget experience and totally lacked any imagination or flair. Apart from our evening waiter (who was brilliant), the staff seemed bored, overworked and did not put any effort into making the holiday a special ...
Hearing great feedback from a few people who have done this cruise previously we decided to book a Mediterranean cruise. The cabin we stayed in had not been cleaned properly as the previous guests receipts and an Amazon envelope was left in one of the cupboards. The Buffet was really poor with watered down juices and dirty plates and cups. You would expect that after the covid pandemic and all of ...
