Lots of room for improvement

Good points - the food in the a la carte restaurants was good - our cabin was nice. Beds were comfortable and shower was fine - spa is great and they only allow a few cabins to use it at a time so it does not feel crowded - shopping on the boat was great. Really good prices for things - I loved the automatic toilet doors Bad points - P&O did not tell us that it was a ...

We chose this cruise for the destination and value. The travel agent tries to upsell of course so choose the cabin you like for yourself from the ships plan. I did speak to someone on board who had to pay the premium for a balcony cabin yet part of the ships structure came across the patio door, so she could not see anything. Really not sure where it was so check that out before buying a balcony ...

Not the cruise ship for us

We chose this ship because the itinerary to Scandinavia sounded interesting and not an area we had been to before. On arrival in Southampton there were horrendous queues outside the terminal and we took 2 hours to board the ship. This was not P & O's fault as there had been an accident in Southampton but why were we not allowed into the terminal so at least we had somewhere to sit. We have ...

Good, but little things could make it much better.

We chose this because of the price largely, it was cheaper than an 2 week holiday to Lanzarote at the same time. It was a good choice. We'd been on P&O Oceana about 11 years ago for a Christmas cruise and the experience was just appalling, and we said never again. However a couple of friends recommended this ship, and largely they were right. P&O try to big up the fact that they major on the ...

P&O, yer naff.

Cruised with P&O a total of 10 times as well as a few Marella and Princess cruises, and this was by far the worst experience we have had with P&O. Their whole ethos appears to be to cut costs at the expense of the level of service. Food choices in the buffet and dining rooms were very limited - usually about 3 or 4 dishes max. If you have any kind of dietary need, then tough luck - you would ...

Really bad.

We chose this cruise and booked it a year before and due to the wonderful itinerary this was the clincher. Embarkation was superb but getting to the terminal was an awful experience as Southampton, once again, was completely gridlocked. We went to our room on deck 15 and were both immediately underwhelmed. The carpet was stained, several chips out of the bath, furniture especially on the ...

Ok Cruise… not bad but could be better

So, right off the bat, I’m gonna say we judge cruises by the value we perceive i.e. for the money we paid. So for us, for what we paid, we enjoyed this cruise and felt it was a positive one. We needed a break and this fitted with the time we were available to travel. We booked late and got a great deal. If we’d paid full price, we might not have considered it in such a positive light. We’ve ...

Just back from a wonderful week in the Norwegian Fjords on Iona had a great time. We stayed in 95** a conservatory suite which was a great room, nice to have that extra bit of space - lovely for sailing in and out of Olden. Watched all the shows in the theatre, especially loved the magician and the comedian Tucker. Favourite bars Crows nest and Emerald. Loved Sindhu, the Limelight with La Voix ...

A cruise for all walks of life, a beer in a sports bar up to champagne in a cocktail bar to smooth piano tunes. Not having to pay for things we would not need such as wifi and ridiculous drinks packages (we are light drinkers). We ordered all the drinks we fancied and spent £150 in a week. (We had £310 OBC so hit the shops to spend the balance or loose it). Great food and choice of style/quality ...

Disappointing

We have always wanted to see Fjords. Wish we had chosen a smaller boat. Shore excursions were boring, uninformative and expensive. The ship was understaffed, food mediocre at best and booking system a complete joke. We ate in the Quays mostly as the Horizon was always packed and the food dreadful. Staff looked distracted and bored too. Shopping non existent. All little luxury touches we ...
