Not really a Fjords cruise.....

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Iona

Overall I had a lovely holiday, I always try to write reviews that are honest and hopefully help other people make decisions about their holidays. I will say this is only my second cruise - my first was in 2020 with Costa to Madagascar. I am by no means a cruise expert, but I do travel abroad at least twice a year, So i hope this helps you in some way. We booked in January the " BRAND NEW ...

Where to begin? The positives, embarkation was very quick and straightforward. Entertainment, there was some very good shows on board presented by the entertainment team - there was also even better shows in the skydome performed by an acrobatic group - PULSE the band also put on some good shows each night. I wouldn't like to name them but other acts we saw were really not ...

I love Norway but have never been in September so we gave it a try. The ship is huge it has to be the largest we have ever been on but did not feel overcrowded. We had an inside cabin on deck 9 near the front and we had rough seas 1 night but I slept right through it. The cabin had everything we needed and it was nice to have a shower door instead of a curtain and was kept spotlessly clean by ...

1st cruise post covid, we had this trip booked for September 2020 which was cancelled. Three of us travelling in 2 balcony cabins, part of celebrating my mums 80th birthday. Husband and I have completed a number of cruises on Princess, RCI, Celebrity & P&O. Boarding was one of the slickest we have experienced, 30 mins from arrival at port to being on the ship, we did arrive near to our ...

One experience was excellent from embarkation to leaving this wonderful ship. The standard inside cabin was spacious and very well designed. Very comfy bed and plenty of storage. Food was excellent in the horizon buffet, The Quays and in the main dining rooms. The Chefs table was delicious and highly recommended. All the staff were pleasant and eager to please. We waited no longer than 10 ...

Poor dining and other niggles spoil a trip to wonderful Norwegian fjords

The greatest disappointment was the food which was universally poor and sometimes inedible. Even the specialist (££) restaurants did not have the highest standards. We had splashed out on a suite and expected a bit of pampering but other than priority boarding and a couple of cabin gifts we got nothing (£20 for drinks with the Officers? £20pp per day to use the private Retreat deck? £30pp for ...

We are currently onboard the Iona and after our disappointing 1st cruise,I feel almost like we're on a different ship. We are regular cruisers usually Celebrity Silversea,Princess and Windstar. This is my first review to feedback to P&O The standard of the food is so so much improved. Hot plates, tasty food,a lot of creativity and really interesting menus. The MDR so far has been ...

My first cruise. Arriving at the Dock from thier you are directed ro the next stage. The flow was quick and easy with no hitches. Once on board again staff are on hand to direct you to your muster station and cabin. We had booked for twin beds and our room was a double, but staff very quickly sorted it out. Due to a medical emergency we were delayed 4 hours waiting for a NHS ambulance, so ...

Our first cruise to Norway and we were very lucky with the weather. Best embarkation we have ever had, everything went quickly and smoothly. Our cabin was good, clean and bright. Excellent bathroom and walk in shower. Dined at several of the venues. Particularly enjoyed the Norwegian tasting menu, Sindhu restaurant and dinner in the Pearl dining room. The Quays proved very popular and great for a ...
