Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

A Great Getaway

Review for a New Caledonia Cruise on Pacific Encounter

This is my first review, though I have done four trips with two cruise lines. I rate this cruise the best of the best. It was comfortable, relaxed, priced right and food generally good. The entertainment generally excellent. The Marque is top shelf with shows like Musicology. Also tipping is included which is a big plus because you know the full price before you sail. Of course you are free ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Explorer

Was hesitant in booking with P&O but thought since all the problems with Covid they would be on the front foot so to speak in attracting customers to their cruise line. Having been on 10+ cruises with other cruise lines…Carnival, Royal Caribbean etc, etc I don’t expect 5 star accommodation or dining. I would be totally happy with a 3 star experience. I must say this cruise was 1 star at ...

Ship looks good on the outside, but wait until you step on board. This review is brutal but honest.

We chose this cruise as it had been 2019 since our last cruise. Embarkation was great. It only took us less than 20 minutes from the time we arrived at the passenger terminal til the time that we were on the ship. Our only criticism of the boarding process was the fact that P&O did not require proof of our covid status. This means that guests could board with Covid-19. Despite the fact that ...

3rd trip on Explorer since start up..so was interested to see how it had changed. Ship has rust all over hull and is a bad site to see, must be short of paint and staff I guess. We were to go to Port Arthur but weather stopped this so had two days in Hobart, and yes weather was not so good on second day with showers and wind especially in the morning, luckily first day not so bad so most ...

Comedy cruise review - maiden voyage

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be part of Pacific Adventure's maiden voyage. (Well maiden with P&O as she was purchased from Princess and is about 20 years old.) I originally booked this "Comedy Cruise" 2 1/2 years ago and just missed going on it due to "the Rona". I think we were the first of the cancellations. So was fantastic to be able to finally take the cruise and get out on the ...

Worst cruise we have ever been on, terrible food and entertainment

We choose this cruise as we had heard great things about P&O and wanted to explore PNG. Unlike we were so disappointed from the moment we stepped on board. We were on the 14th floor and the entire hallway was filled with black mould and smells so toxic. The ship is so old and has had no maintenance in years. There is rust, old paint, old carpet everywhere. The balcony room is tiny with only one ...

Our 4th Cruise on Encounter since restart. We loved our cruise to PNG few years back on P&O and this one was just as good ( except one island short of last). The main reason was the same as last, the people you meet and make friends with on this cruise. Updates since last trip on ship - Julie the cruise director has gone to Adventure I believe, and Christiaan has progressed up from ...

This is our second cruise on this ship since Covid (although we had been on it many times under the Princess flag) We knew what to expect and the experience was similar to our last voyage except this one had a pot day. Food offering was similar to the June cruise, however the MDR food was hot. The choices were the same but I found the meal was more enjoyable by have more of the appetisers and ...

Hit and miss

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Encounter

This was our third cruise as a family on a Carnival owned line but the first on P&O Australia specifically. We chose this cruise to get some warmth in north Queensland and to experience see how P&O have presented their new ship. We got a good price on an inside cabin. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but at time P&O made it hard. In this review I'll just 'cut to the chase'. The Good: The overall ...
