We really enjoyed this cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation were both very well organised and fast. The Pacific Explorer feels smaller than it is, and it can be hard to get seating, especially in the Explorer Hotel.
We only went to the Waterfront Restaurant once - the husband's meal was fine, mine was cold and quite unpleasant so I didn't want to go back again. Every meal we had at Luke's ...
we choose this cruise for the destination to New caledonia, it was our first time cruising.
some points we found about this trip;
getting on and off the boat was good no drama.
our cabin was horrible we got upgrade which was more like a down grade 3 adults in single bunkbeds when it was supposed to be a double/queen and a single.
food was pretty average.
entertainment was the ...
I joined this cruise as part of a group so I didn’t take advantage of the onboard activities and bars.
Our departure from Sydney was on time and boarding was pretty straightforward. Luggage arriving from a 12-1 boarding by 2:30.
The boat was clean but in places worn. We had a twin bed layout. The beds were pretty hard. The balcony cabin was compact with litte space apart from the balcony ...
Pacific Explorer Voyage X839 - (13-21/08/18)
In general, the cruising was well organised until the disembarkation, which was chaotic.
The embarkation was fine, no issues, the luggage was delivered outside my cabin. There was a little party on the main deck arranged by the crew just to keep passengers in the mood of an holiday.
The port of calls were Noumea, Lifou and Mare in New ...
First time cruiser and very impressed with P&O Pacific Explorer. After reading every single review about this ship I wasn’t sure what to expect. I must admit I did wonder if I was wasting my money booking with P&O but that was definitely not the case! Just a quick background I cruised with two other adults and my son (4yo).
Cabin: 9097 Balcony. I chose this room because it was very close to ...
Fantastic cruise, staff were amazing ,so full of energy and will go out of there way to make you feel comfortable, food in the 6 restaurants was 5 star and was excellent in the bistro area (plenty of it).We had a inside cabin, bit small but comfortable. The stage shows were brilliant and other activities were great, service was top notch.
All the Islands were fantastic and well worth going ...
Sailed the lovely Pacific Explorer. The choice of ship wasn't our main concern, it was the right time and going to the somewhere other than Melbourne winter.
We stayed in Sydney the night before and stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel Sydney The Rocks. The location is perfect, right near the OPT and literally a downhill walk to the terminal. Could not fault the hotel.
The embarkation went ...
Food; 4 stars really excellent given this was an inexpensive holiday where the quality was much better than most average pubs/restaurants around town. We are Italian, cook well and are generally fussy about quality so I think we can say... It’s not the best food but it is definitely good.
Ship public areas: it’s beautiful. The interior designers have nailed a contemporary comfortable classic ...
We travelled as a family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and this was our 4th cruise and our 2nd one with P&O, the previous one being 10 years ago.
EMBARKATION – We arrived at the cruise terminal in Circular Quay at 11:30 ready for our 12 noon check-in, and were ushered through straight away. 30 minutes later we were on board (and it would have been even quicker had it not been for a delay ...
This was our first family cruise. We have two teenagers 16 and 14. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience. However I did feel there was a lack of things to do for the teens especially in the evening. Out of the 10 days 6 evenings were adult only shows. While there are other things happening at the same time options are much the same karaoke or trivia. The things they could go to they ...
