Accessible cabin. Lots of room. Bathroom was large with roll-in shower. Great water pressure! Upgraded flat screen on wall at foot of bed. Power and USB ports were well located. Large balcony. Read entire member review >>
Usual layout with big bed, sofa area,TV with lots of options Fridge stocked with overpriced drinks ,even water is charged.Use drink machines in the Lido.Bathroom with tub fine.Good hanging space and storage.Balcony with metal front and seating OK. Read entire member review >>
We were offered an upgrade from outside to a balcony and we chose a handicapped cabin (although we don't need one) because it is larger both inside and also the deck. The downside was that it has reduced storage. The walk-in shower was very roomy but there was no bathtub.
It should be reno'ed as soon as possible. It was a dull, rather tired looking cabin and there wasn't even a picture on the wall. Read entire member review >>
Our room 5116 was a Deluxe Verandah Oceanview on deck 5, not too deluxe - at only 143 square feet. Balcony was shorter because there was a life boat that was even with the balcony floor - wish we had been made aware of that. Very narrow hallway between closets & bathroom. We had to shut all closet doors in able to reach the bathroom. Bathroom was very small, with toilet being set at an angle (our knees were touching the tub)
Had a mechanical issue that was resolved quickly by our room steward and Cathy at the Front Desk. Plenty of storage, just not a lot of room to walk around. We used the stool at the desk for our dirty clothes as the top lifts off. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was located on deck 5 mid ship. The life boats are right underneath our balcony but it did not interfere with our view at all. We had a beautiful full view straight out port side which I would recommend. We were able to see the lovely ports are we arrived and left. The cabin has plenty of storage and was very comfortable. Please make note, I brought a power strip to use since I was going to charge phones and camera batteries. It came in very handy. They do provide a hairdryer, soap, shampoo and conditioner. But, I brought my own, a personal choice. Also when you unpack, your suit cases can go under the bed for storage. This room is comfortable for 2 people, 3 would have been tight. But it could work. Loved having the balcony to enjoy the fresh air and being able to sit and enjoy the views. Got some great sunrise and sunset pictures from my balcony. Read entire member review >>
This cabin is a great location - just about equal distance from the bow and the back. Typical balcony cabin. I liked having the tub /shower - much better than the small shower stalls. Adequate storage for a week's cruise. Lifeboats are one deck down, so no obstruction looking out, but you can not see straight down to deck below or ocean. Read entire member review >>
No issues with operable items. The bed, while not uncomfortable, was hardly anything which could be described with the word “dream”. There was a creative use of storage space. While the room (4124) was not advertised as having an obstructed or partially obstructed view, it had no privacy at all, and the view fore and aft was limited. Read entire member review >>
Our first impression was smelly cabin. A few nights into the cruise we were awoken by load banging noises. This happened for several nights and we were advised that this was the movement of the ship. It turned out they knew about the problem but wait for complaints. At least two neighbours had the same complaint. A week into the trip and after a few days of complaining we were moved to an upgraded suite which had no banging but creaking cabinetry. The last few days we also had a blocked toilet, as did others in the area. This was fixed twice and on the last two nights it was blocked again but never fixed so we used the public toilets.
We also had intermittent smells in the first cabin & noticed this in some public areas too. The sewage system problem may be bigger than HAL acknowledge. Read entire member review >>
Our first cabin had a loud banging noise below us, I contacted the front desk after the 2nd night and they took care of it. It came back the 4th day and we were moved to a very nice cabin. We were not expecting to be moved and we appreciated all the follow up we were given Read entire member review >>
Great cabin, very clean, cool box worked great, balcony was clean and furniture was in great shape, hallway was quiet and not too far from the elevators, had trouble one day with outlet in the bathroom and a friends hairdryer. Starboard side was the better side for viewing the glacier in Tracy Arm Read entire member review >>
Great location! We were warned that the Lido deck pool was just above us and that we might need to bear the noise of deck chairs being moved above, but truthfully we weren't bothered at all. We truly loved that our balcony was protected from the wind yet we our view was a full 180 deg.Our cabin was spacious with plenty of storage. It came with extra drinking glasses and wine glasses. And the beds!!! Only our own mattress at home could be better than the one aboard ship. We slept so well! But to be able to get up and walk out on to a private balcony just before the sun rises does one truly realize how much an outside balcony is worth. The bathroom wasn't cramped at all and the extra space for toiletries was appreciated. Cabin (3) - Veranda Starboard Side. Mid-Back Ship 4126. Low noise. Easy Access to back elevators. . Longest walk was to the Theatre at the front of the ship. Mechanical systems worked well. Layout was functional. Room really did not feel any different than our past veranda / ocean view cabins on this / other cruise lines. The bathroom laminate was tired (chips that had been patched) and the chalking around tub was “sloppy”. As mentioned in other reviews – our floor divots under the carpet were right inside the door by the bathroom entrance. Another couple with child had one of the large indoor cabins – they did not feel crowded and were happy that the darkness encouraged sleeping in. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 5066 was clean, tidy and comfortable. Plenty of storage space, bathroom while spartan was unexpectedly roomy. Very quiet and central location with accommodation decks above and below. Verdandah smaller than most and overlooked the lifeboats but this is reflected in the price of the room, we had no issue with it as there was plenty of room to sit and you look straight out not down. Lots of storage space. Suitcases fit under bed.
Great balcony - if you have friends or family in adjoining cabins, get the staff to unlock doors between balconies. When booking, check if balcony is glass, if metal, it will inhibit your view of the sea from the bed.
Carpet in hallways bit obtrusive - not good if you are feeling a bit seasick!
Towel animals that appear on bed at night are a great touch and the children loved them.
Our fixed plug in basin difficult to open to let water out. (Had to use nail file) Read entire member review >>
Our VA balcony cabin 8032 was handicap accessible although we are not but we chose it as part of an upgrade offer to the Navigation deck. We did not like this cabin as it seemed to have less storage than a previous balcony cabin we had on deck 5 on the Zuiderdam. Also, the privacy barrier angles so it cuts of some of the view when you sit inside. It is fine when you are outside but would not chose it again. Read entire member review >>
Enjoyed the balcony immensely. Plenty of closet space. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Middle of ship. Wonderful cabin stewards. Read entire member review >>
Good sized balcony with two chairs, one foot stool and a tiny table. Big enough for two people to move around comfortably.
Lots of closet space with fold-away shelves that customize to your needs. Drawers underneath the foot of the bed(s). Comfy bed, some wear on furnishings but not enough to detract from the overall comfort.
Excellent sound-proofing and generally very quiet, though in high winds balcony dividers did rattle.
Although "a problem with one of the tanks" was reported there was no smell in the bathroom only a several second delay occasionally when flushing.
Given a choice I would ask for a similar cabin closer to midships for convenience sake, but would happily accept this one again. Read entire member review >>
We had cabins behind the elevators. We thought it would be noisy. To our surprise, we didn't hear any noises from the hallway/elevators. Perhaps it was masked by the white noise from the A/C and passengers in HAL tend to be more mature. No yellings heard and everyone was so polite.
Closet space was limited, but we could store our luggage under the bed. Read entire member review >>
8002 is right below the Lido pool and exercise room and across from an employee door but it was not noisy. I really liked the room for the views but it is a bit far from an elevators. Read entire member review >>
Cabin for 4 with balcony, good for 2, but when the bed and bunk are down, it is good for nothing. No room to move, no access to the balcony, hard to get to the bathroom, simply - not good for 4.
Poor quality air, lighting. Balcony - better that the cabin, Should set a bed there for fresh air.
Have been on other cruises with much better accommodations. Read entire member review >>
VF 5136 - small bathroom, but adequate for two people, Great balcony with overhang - is protected from wind. Three closets with more than enough room for a weeks wardrobe. Excellent Bed!!!!! Read entire member review >>
#7032. Very convenient location. Quiet. Wonderful balcony. Small room but perfectly fine for a couple who like each other! Good closet with adequate shelving and hanging space. Small bathroom with good storage and a great shower. Great bed. Fantastically comfortable. Loved how we could access all the lights in the room from either side of the bed Read entire member review >>
Cabin 5014 was great. We didn't hear anyone outside the hallway or in the rooms next to us. We loved the location, port forward. The balcony was fine for two people to enjoy. There was plenty of storage for our clothes and luggage. The electrical outlet in the bathroom is for electric razors only. It would not power a hair dryer or curling iron. The electrical outlets at the vanity worked great for the hair dryer and curling iron. The bed was comfortable. Read entire member review >>
Nice veranda with comfy furniture, quiet location, adequate storage, comfy bed. Cabin location handy to forward elevator and only one flight of steps down to Lifeboat deck (for drill). Being lower on ship minimized ship motion. Refrigerator barely worked, bed reading lights the worst we've ever had, minimal desk space. Bathtub just got in the way. Much too small to use. We stayed in cabin #5058 which was on the veranda deck towards the front of the ship very close to the elevators. When we first walked in we thought it was really small, but once we unpacked and found how much of our stuff fit into the cabinets we were pleased. The closets had plenty of hanging space and could convert into shelving if needed. There was a safe in one of the closets too. The veranda had a good view but I would have chosen to be about 5 cabins further back because we were right next to a portion of the ship that jutted out and blocked our view. We spent a lot of our time in the Crow's Nest Lounge & library which was directly above our cabin so it was quite convenient to go between the two with our laptop and books. The only drawback to this cabin was that the shower drained very slow and our feet were in about 4 inches of water at all times. Read entire member review >>
The aft veranda cabin (5180) was fantastic. The balconies on the end of the ship are huge - we had two chairs, two chaise lounges and a table and still had tons of room. The king sized bed was very comfortable and we had more than sufficient space for all of our belongings. Read entire member review >>
The back is surprisingly pleasant! Feels private and away from the hustle-bustle. Just be aware that the terraced layout means no overhead privacy or shelter from higher staterooms, or from the top deck. Read entire member review >>
