Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oceania Vista

This was our 8th Oceania cruise as Oceania has become our favourite line to cruise with over the last number of years. We did a BtoB for 18 days. The ship is beautiful as are the color schemes however certain design modifications from Riviera and Marina were not appreciated. Our cruise was very enjoyable. The islands visited offered many excursions and the ports gave us plenty of duty-free ...

The new Vista ship is magnificent. Design and interior design has to be the best afloat. After that, dissapointing. We are normally Seabourn passengers but were lured to their new ship. I feel sure they didn’t have the full compliment of crew onboard. Also some of the waiting staff were very inexperienced. We did 2 back to back cruises and the second one was a complete replica of the ...

Disappointing "finest cuisine at sea"

Just back from an 11-day cruise on Oceania Vista. The short version: Vista is a new and beautiful ship with poor food. The cabins are tastefully designed. The crew is mostly friendly and accommodating (with a few notable exceptions). As impressive as some of the elements of the ship are, though, they never seem to gel into a coherent whole. This was our second Oceania cruise (we were on Riviera ...

Not quite luxury, not quite as expensive

We recently returned from our eleven-night Caribbean cruise on the Vista. While parts of the cruise were good, there were parts that gave us pause for future Oceania cruises. We are both in our early 60s and have been cruising since 1990, but really picked up our cruising pace in 2010. We’ve been on Celebrity the most but have recently enjoyed Regent and Silversea. We were looking for Oceania ...

Skipped our favorite port ( St Barts ) and one other. Second time this has happened to us with Oceania, and definitely the last. Problems with our suite - too cool day one ( replace units in ceiling ) too hot day two ( replaced units again). Not working day 3 - finally got a capable mechanic who took about 15 seconds to fix the problems. Noise above our heads ( dining area that is NOT open at ...

Lovely cruise on the Vista

First off, I'd give it 4-1/2 stars, not quite five but still a strong positive rating. Arrival at Terminal J was easy - we drove the two hours south, dropped off our luggage at the entrance (with spouse) and parked right across the street. A helpful porter handled the rest - and similar on the way back. The ship is quite beautiful, we loved the understated but elegant decor and soft tones ...

First time for us on Oceania. Very small ship. No crowds. They advertise "The best cuisine at sea, NOT! The buffet was awful. Main dining room, hit or miss. Specialty dining(included in price) Very Good. Room service was fast and efficient. Bread was always stale. Not much entertainment on board but enjoyable. Comedian was just plain terrible. Her second show drew less than 20 people. I was on ...

We chose the cruise as it was goiing to interesting different ports of call. The first one was Costa Maya, where we were unable to dock and understand that happens frequently. also heard that actually its very scruffy there. Other ports of call varied. We had an excellent excursion from Guatamala with brilliant guide and included high speed boat trip up the New River. The Tabyana beach day, ...

My wife and I spent 10 days on Vista in January 2024. We are in our 70s and have done about 30 cruises on different cruise lines. This was our fourth with Oceania. The ship: Magnificent and very passenger friendly. Great layout and the interior designer excelled creating elegance and charm with great choice of colors and materials. Our state room was beautiful with a lovely balcony and adequate ...

If You're Concerned About the Environment or Your Personal Health, Avoid Oceania Vista

We've been on 20+ cruises and never gave much thought to the environmental impact (our bad) , but on the first day of sailing on Vista we had soot balls (from the exhaust) all over our expensive veranda, making it all but unusable. This continued through the 10-day cruise. We even had to close the veranda door to avoid exhaust coming into our room. We were deck 7 aft, but heard similar complaints ...
