OMG lets start with the dirty cabin on arrival to the boat following the mile long trek with 50 pounds of baggage and no porter assistance. All I wanted to do was take my shoes off and lay down. What I found was dirty and underwear and socks from the prior occupants. When I left a note for the cabin steward with the dirty clothes at turn down she left the clothes on my clean bed thinking they ...
This was our sixth cruise with Norwegian and our first time on the Star. We’re big fans of the NCL vibe - freestyle dining, no dated “formal” obligatory dress code etc. and this cruise certainly hasn’t put us off Norwegian!
Embarkation and disembarkation in Venice were the easiest we’ve ever experienced on a cruise, despite the ship operating at maximum capacity. Bags were swiftly delivered on ...
Having booked the cruise late and after having researched which cruise lines were good for families, I booked the cruise on the Star. At the time of booking NCL were advertising that there was a childrens pool with slides on board. A few weeks after booking, I received an email stating that the latter facilities were being removed. They must have known about the proposed removal at the time ...
Was in Venice for 3 days before boarding. Enjoyed the time and the sites and self booked Tours of Italy attractions. Freak rain prevented the gondola ride.
The embarkation saga starts with the boat ride from the Hilton to the ship port. No problem short 10 minute ride. Then dragged the 50 pounds of luggage up two ramps from the boat dock almost a mile to the embarkation point. No ...
This was as group cruise of about 30-45 people.
The excursions were handled as best as possible. The first day out was a disaster with not enough tender boats available to transport everyone back to the ship. Folks were left waiting out in the rain. Drinks and wet towels were provided which was welcomed.
Food in the main dining rooms was sub-par at best, desserts were horrible. First ...
We choose Norwegian and this route because of previous positive experiences. Unfortunately this time it was NOT the same. I will break down my cruise experience into the PROS and CONS:
PROS
* We started out our cruise from the beautiful port of Venice. We had arrived a couple of days earlier, which gave us the opportunity to break up the jet lag and also see the city entirely. Lovely city ...
Chose due to the destinations but will never cruise on Norwegian again. 2nd time and equates to the 2 worst cruises we've been on. There's just too many people for the ships facilities. Everyone reserves their pool chairs early in the morning and fights break out over them. There's just not enough staff per passenger and it's chaos on the pool deck for the one pool. be prepared to wait in long ...
My husband and I basically chose this cruise we wanted to go to the Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Venice locations and because we could schedule this at the last minute. So we had to take what was available. Our cabin was small with an obstructed view but we had a very comfortable king bed and the rest of the cabin was o.k. Our maid was Samantha Thurry of Mauritius, an island off eastern ...
First i this is my 7th cruise and i have seen good and bad, but i have never written a review,
I booked this cruise (4 cabins) for a large family cruise. One of the rooms (10093) had a large constant vibration. It did not matter if the ship was at sea or docked. Several cruise employees came to listen and agreed that this was very bad (kept passengers awake) and that they would get back to me ...
We chose this 8 night cruise as we were keen to visit Venice, Croatia, Montenegro and Greece. We flew into Venice a couple of days pre cruise to explore this magnificent city. Easy transport by bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma (I purchased the tickets from home in advance). From there it was a short walk to our hotel the Palazzo Odoni in the Santa Croce district. A tip is to use the ...
