First and last cruise

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

Even if the embankment process was properly planned I don’t know if I’d ever go on a cruise again. I had high expectations of my first cruise and won’t ever go again. The ship made port 6 hours after we were expected to be on board because someone decided to jump of the stern of the ship. We arrived at the terminal and 12 hours later were still in terminal. They skipped the first port and didn’t ...

Very good cruise, but embarkation was a NIGHTMARE

We were very happy with the Star, it looked and functioned very well. Entertainment staff was wonderful - went over and beyond to make it a personal experience (Cristiana, Marta, Philip), wait staff was great (Karisma, Donnie), room attendant was super nice and efficient (Alicia *****). Public areas were great, kept clean - hard to find loungers on deck and most people hogged them for the ...

My husband and I booked this cruise very last minute for our anniversary We have cruised with Royal Caribbean a few months ago and had very pleasant experience. Since Royal Caribbean was sold out, we decided to book with NCL because of the ports of call we were interested in. It was a completely different experience in a very negative way. Everything was so unorganized. Service was horrible. ...

This was our first cruise and it started off horribly We were due to set sail at 5:30pm on August 19th, but due to the British woman jumping overboard on the prior sailing the Norwegian Star was seven hours late getting into port. Norwegian did not issue any communication to us. Nor did they clearly communicate the check in process as we waiting eight hours in the terminal. To make matters worse ...

Failed departure marred family's first cruise

Norwegian Cruise Line and the Port of Venice made our family's first cruise memorable for the wrong reasons. Departing on 8/19/2018, we were unlucky in the sense our ship was delayed to port due to a jumper and subsequent 8+ hour search. Sadly, none of this information reached customers. My family and I spent extra vacation money to get to the cruise terminal by 1:00 PM local time. Customer ...

Arrived Venice a few days early to explore the city, including Murano and Burano, which I recommend if you've never visited and enjoy shopping. This was my second cruise ever but first on Norwegian. Good experience except for the British woman who jumped off the ship as it was coming to pick us up. This delayed our departure which meant we were sent on a free shuttle back to Venice/San Marco. ...

We choose this cruise to visit the ports. Embarkation on Aug. 19 was the worst travel experience we have ever had. Arrived at nine thirty AM and stood in line all day. The ship was very delayed due to a jumper the day before. Norwegian expressed endless concern about this woman, but it was the coast guard that took care of the situation, Concerns about their customers were non-existent. After the ...

Disappointing

Our experience began with a thud as the ship was delayed for hours due to some crazy lady jumping overboard on the previous cruise. Although this event was not the companies fault, they did little to make up for it. We were left waiting for hours in the hotel, with no information from the cruise company reps forthcoming. I found out what was happening from Twitter! They gave us vouchers for the ...

I picked this cruise because of the itinerary. Embarkation took forever. The ports were great stops. Did mostly our own excursions. The one bought through the ship was very expensive and out tour guide never went with us at the stops. She would tell us what time to be back at the bus. Our room stewart Anthony was great as well as bar/restaurant staff. The Spa is a wonderful facility and the ...

The worst nightmare for a cruise.

My sister and I went on this cruise because of the port destinations. We had a great time on the first 7 days, we met some new friends so we stayed together mostly on shore excursions , dinners and entertainment. The service was good and our cabin is ok. The worst part came on the last night while we're on our way to Venice a Brit lady jump overboard thus creating a chaos for all passengers. We ...
