The cruise was advertised as having a direct flight from Jersey (where I live) to Venice which is very convenient and why I booked it, having not really considered a cruise before.
As it turned out, this didn't happen and we spent a night in London and a further night in Venice...all good and part of the adventure.
I'd read up on lots of cruise reviews and pins prior to the trip and ...
AS a first time cruiser, first of all, I chose NCL Star because it has all the places I wanted to see in one trip. Travelled with my family of four, sisters in law and brothers in law and a niece (12 adults!). We booked three from the five excursions as Kotor and Corfu were easy to move around by ourselves off shore. Unfortunately, Santorini was crowded (as there were 5 ships docked) that we did ...
Recommended by our travel agent and she is very well travelled 40 years in the business has it listed as one of her favourite trips.Tours were excellent. Timings all round were spot on tendering pick ups ect,met some lovely people, free style cruising suited my friend and I, able to experience different restaurants. Met some lovely people and just really enjoyed the whole experience from the first ...
The cruise has a great collection of ports of call: Venice, Mykonos, Santorini, Dubrovnik, Kotor and Korfu.
I had cruised on Royal Caribbean, X Celebrities and Disney before.
Positives are:
- the largest family suite we ever had, deck 11
Much larger than on other ships we cruised. We had a full scale bath! And overall the restroom was superspacious.
The French restaurant Versaille ...
Venice and Greece. We wanted to visit the islands and the enjoy the water. Tours were good that we went on great guides. We missed going up to see Santorini because we did not have enough time. We had a dinner reservation for 5.30 but changed it to 6 we did not get a notice. We were there a 5.30 as reserved but had to wait a 1/2 hour for restaurant to open. Ginza, O,Shanneseys, Aqua, Food was BAD. ...
Having cruised with NCL before, we trusted that we would be allocated nice cabins so were disgusted when we arrived in our 4th deck rooms. Realizing that we were in the bowels of the ship, with the engine room just below us and unable to move to a higher deck as we were told that the ship was full and nothing was available, we spent a week of sleepless nights with the engines whining and whining ...
We have always cruise with NCL because of their flexibility of dining and times. NCL always gives great incentives for FREEBIES when you book early with them. Staterooms are spacious and clean (balcony rooms are the best). We were sad about the entertainment on the Star which was mostly one person singing instead of dancers and singing. We did book our pre and post hotel through NCL - great ...
We wanted to see a bit of Venice and a lot of Greece. The Norwegian Star ship was beautiful inside and out. Other cruise lines and ships we have cruised on were a bit tacky with interior decor. Our balcony was the perfect setting and worth paying a few extra $ for the views. The cabin was roomy and beautifully decorated with lots of storage for clothes and a large shower. The ports were ...
We'd never been on a cruise before and decided on this one because we liked the port of calls. Before our trip, I read a lot of the reviews about this particular ship, good and bad and therefore had an idea of what to expect.
The embarkation was hassle free, and quick and our cabin was as expected. The bathroom was bigger and more comfortable than I thought it would be and the bed was ...
Been on Norwegian Star, Cruising from Venice 7 day Mediterranean.
Ports of call not enough time, felt under pressure and rushed.
If you like running in order to see places please book this cruise.
Not recommended, charges on the ship are excessive not reasonable at all.
Internet expensive.
I will refrain from using Norwegian in the future, ship very very average, ...
