We really wanted to visit Venice and the cruise stops along the Adriatic. Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth, fast and easy. Not all activities (such as the excursions) were as well organized. Food was okay, entertainment was okay but neither were up to the standard we've experienced on two Royal Caribbean cruises. Neither was the overall quality of the personnel on board. The ...
This cruise was chosen at the last minute and the Itinerary was good. We flew into Venice day of embarkation and was allowed onto the ship and our stateroom was ready so we napped. We had a balcony room which was very small compared to other NCL ships. We usually have a Haven Room and this ship did not have The Haven. This ship seemed to be very crowded and that was evidenced by no available ...
We selected this cruise for a number of reasons: the size of the ship (not too huge), the ports of call, the amenities and shipboard options and the cabins.
Overall, the experience was positive but it all depended on the day/time as my experiences varied widely. I'll detail them in the notes below.
First, I think it's worth noting one of the more positive aspects of the trip....the ...
Great way to see Italy, Greece and Croatia. We had a great time on the Ship and the Ports. Was disappointed in the Cruise Director and his Crew and how they were so disorganized. You barely saw them and didn't seem real helpful when you did. The procedure to get Tender Tickets and getting on and off the ship during tender procedures could have been a real safety issue. People got in line at ...
The ship was recently redorated and was clean. Our mini suite suited our needs perfectly. The dining was top notch. We purchased the upgraded meal package but it was next to impossible to get reservations and the meals were not all that much better. The theater shows were quite good. The live music and lounge singers, not so much. The game show activities were not in good taste, nor the poolside ...
We are big fans of NCL, especially their bigger ships so I was a little concerned how I would feel spending a week on a Star. I need not have worried as this ship can take on the big boys any day. The ship feels very modern and has lots of great bars and restaurants, I never once felt we didn't have lots of choice of where to go. The first night in Versaille was shocking, the food was good but the ...
This was our first cruise and we went with another couple. Had an inside room - no problem - just really dark in the morning, but you really don't spend a lot of time in your room, so no biggie for us. At the time of booking, no balcony rooms were available. It would have been nice, but definitely, not needed.
Cruise overall was great - we had a really good time. The best part was the ports ...
We chose this cruise because it fitted in with our other travel arrangements, it visited ports we wanted to see, and it was not too long. We had never done an open sea cruise before so it was a trial run.
Despite there being about 2,300 passengers it only seemed crowded at shore excursion time. There was plenty of choice for activities and on-board dining and the food was good.
We favored ...
I chose this cruise because I wanted to return to Venice after going there on another cruise and I had never been to Greece.
I rated this cruise very good because the service overall was excellent, our accommodations were excellent and the itinerary was beautiful! We had excellent service in Le Bistro and La Cucina, also in both of the complimentary main dining rooms, O'Sheehans and the ...
I found a great discount deal on a suite on the Norwegian Star so I booked it. It was a great experience to be in a suite! Special attention from the staff and great benefits. Loved it! Shows on the ship were great! Food was good. Versailles Main Dining room was the only place on the ship that we did NOT enjoy. Slow service and unfriendly staff. Other restaurants and bars were good.
