Chosen based on itinerary, but far too much tendering and arriving last in ports visited by multiple cruise liners, meant very little time in ports, especially when ship choose to use third party tenders. Queing for an hour to get a tender ticket at 7 in the moring only to queue another hour to leave the ship at 9 and 4 hours later queing again for a shore tender to return.

We loved the different ports of call so we could see a variety of islands and towns. Our room was fabulous, made even better by the attentive services of our room steward, Resley. We were however disappointed to find out that even though we had the ultimate beverage package that the drinks in the room were extra. One day prior to embark, I received an email stating that they had to alter the route due to something that I didn't understand. Tried to call the NCL agent who sold me the trip and I got no answer. At the end, we visited one less country and spent 36 straight hours sailing.

The NCL experience is why we keep coming back. The Greek Isles Cruise out of Venice did not disappoint. We did this same itinerary 40 years ago and wanted a trip down memory lane.
Not to be, apart from embarkation and disembarkation which reminded us of the pre online booking era.

We prefer the newer mega ships but the itinerary was just what we were looking for so we booked the Star. Although the ship was built in 2002, it was recently refurbished. We selected this cruise based on itinerary and no at sea days and were not disappointed. Our experience may differ from others as we stayed in a Suite and had the luxury of priority embarking and disembarking at every port - this alone was worth the extra $$.
