I have cruised about tan times in the past 8 years with multiple cruise line companies. This was my third time cruising with Norwegian. NCL had good prices and had three perks (drinks, specialty dining, and $50 off excursions per cabin per day) that attracted me to the cruise. What they did not disclose were all of the hidden costs they would tack on. Even though you have a “free” drink package ...
So, I tried Norwegian for my birthday and Norwegian needs to do better. The dining is subpar. Even worse there a barely any restaurant options. The cabins are extremely small, really for one person, there were 3 of us. And to make things worse, we were at two of our ports of call for maybe 5 hrs! Oh and in addition to the very small cabins, if you want to watch TV, there are barely any channels to ...
It took 3 hours to get to our cabin from the time boarding was scheduled. The food selection is not the greatest, majority of the food have pork (not much selection for those who don’t eat pork). The entertainment options are limited to music and other things that are not of interest to me. Majority of the staff are not the friendly compared to other cruise ships i have been on. The unlimited wifi ...
We have been on 5 prior cruises with Carnival. This was our first time with Norwegian. The biggest difference between Carnival and this NCL Sky was the quality of the food and the age of the passengers. Carnival seemed to have a younger crowd, while NCL seemed to have older families and a handful of children. In our opinion, NCL's food was higher quality and we did not tire of the choices. The Sky ...
We booked this cruise 1 1/2 years ago when it was supposed to be the new ship, Viva. It wasn't finished due to supply chain issues and the Getaway went in it's place. There were well over 4K people on this ship AND 1500 children. Way too many people. I thought the food at Savor, Tropicana, and Taste were really good. We would upgrade and get the Cagney Steak for $15 upcharge. There were so many ...
We sailed on NCL Getaway in July and August 2023 on a cruise from Lisbon, Portugal to Southampton, England. My wife and I are in our 60s and have cruised over 30 times with 9 of those on NCL. Overall we enjoyed this cruise although there were some irritating aspects.
EMBARK: Embarkation in Lisbon was very smooth. We arrived at 1130am and were onboard the ship within 15 minutes (by 2pm we ...
A family member encouraged me to try a Norwegian cruise because they had been on a shorter cruise on a different Norwegian ship in the Caribbean and they booked a suite. I booked a balcony room on the Getaway and the room was horribly small. The beds were uncomfortable, the couch was hard and low to the floor, the half size hanging clothes closet was in the corner and you had to squeeze yourself ...
We had a great time! - Easy straight on embark at lisbon cabin was the tiny!!! a four berth although only 2 of us and we are light travellers!! we are mid aged and agile but you are unable to walk either side of bed as bunks protrude a foot. So had to clamber into bed. No plugs either side. well positioned cabin but no lie ins as tannoys wake you at docking !! telling you whats on !! And how far ...
Our steward is great. Entertainment overall is not bad. Shopping is lousy. Casino is lousy. Art is not good too. Too many hidden or complicated charges on cruise. Constantly feels like it’s a game to dodge not being over charged. Not a relaxing experience at all.
Have to queue up for everything to get credit back (so outdated whereby it intentionally makes it hard to get money back, in today’s ...
The following problems occurred prior to and during our cruise. For the record, this was our Anniversary cruise too.
They couldn't schedule our return flight for five days after the cruise, eliminating our ability to take advantage of the buy one get one free Airfare promotion. I ended up paying double for my own airfare. Then to add insult to injury, without speaking to me, one of their ...
