This was my first cruise I ever been, and the biggest thing I took away from it is that I will probably never take a cruise again. It’s not because I got sea sick, or had a bad time, but it just wasn’t what I wanted or thought it would be.
When I proposed to my wife the deal was she plan the wedding and I plan the honeymoon, well I immediately knew that we were going on a cruise of some sort. ...
I always sail the haven category. It’s usually in a forward facing penthouse. This cruise I had 12106. I like this cabin for its space and forward and port views. The balcony is usually small and this ship was no exception. The curtain in the bedroom wouldn’t stay up and after numerous calls to fix it, my husband tied a belt around it during the day. Since this ship is so huge, bigger than I would ...
We chose the Bliss because it was built for Alaska Cruising. It was a fantastic voyage in every way. Although no cruise/ship is perfect, the Bliss did not disappoint. We booked an M6 Mini Suite w/ large balcony on deck 8/ forward. It waa a great location as everything we wanted was very close by. Dining was Awesome. We had the 3 specialty dining package included, and went to Cagney’s, LaCuccina ...
My family of 4 had a great experience with NCL on our recent trip to Alaska. We traveled with my parents who are experienced cruisers on different lines (RCCL, Princess, and Disney) we have only sailed with Disney. Here are our pros and cons.
Pro:
Beautiful ship! Loved the Waterfront, beautiful area to walk around outside. Great place for whale and other wildlife watching. Lots of ...
I am an experienced cruiser and wanted to share Alaska with my kids, ages 9 and 13. I am horrible at committing to vacations and only decided to book a cruise a month before we sailed. Given that our passports had expired and the kids don't have them, I didn't want to jump through a bunch of hoops so I had to sail out of a roundtrip port. Seattle it was!
We had last sailed on the Breakaway so I ...
We traveled with 3 other couples and two 12 year olds on our very first cruise. Factors in choosing this particular cruise: Marriage retreat seminars, itinerary (never been to Alaska), promises of smooth waters (easily seasick), and traveling with experienced cruisers. Check-in, embarkation/debarkation was a breeze.
PROS:
1. Service. Hands-down excellent service provided by the mostly ...
My family and I just returned from an Alaskan cruise on the NCL Joy on Saturday. I was reluctant to book after seeing so many negative opinions about the ship, but booked our trip for July 13-20. I couldn't be happier that I did!! First off, the ship is clean. I mean even in the food buffet area (Garden Café) there was never food or spilled drink to step in. Not like a typical buffet option. ...
Offer received through Latitudes Rewards. Loved the ship itself. Much better than the Star. Everything was clean and shiny new. Loved how many options you had available to keep you occupied.
Decent pricing on cruise itself, but a nightmare upgrading the drink package. Got a cocktail when I got on ship (Long Island) which was absolutely awful. Switched to Vodka Cranberry and then got the ...
We just wrapped up a fantastic, seven-day sailing to Alaska aboard the Norwegian Joy (Seattle to Seattle in July 2019). Our stateroom was a two-bedroom family villa in The Haven. While we identified some areas where Norwegian can improve its service, this cruise was an enjoyable adventure. In this review, I describe what we liked, and I talk about what I think NCL can do to improve specific areas ...
SHORT REVIEW: DON'T FALL FOR THE HYPE.
Limiting to Norwegian, our first and best experience was on Norwegian Wind in 2005 when there were no extra charges for anything, freely go to any restaurant, full ship-length jogging track on the top deck with clear view all-around, variety of entertainment, etc.
Compared to that experience, Jogging track ? Lousy & small. Entertainment ? Jersey Boys ...
