Alaska in September

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

We had never done a cruise to Alaska before and this one seemed to fit the bill for our needs. As we had been to Seattle before, we elected to arrive and sail in the same day. We had a party of 4 so we ubered fro the airport to the harbor but the NCL staff were all over the terminal to help those who took the NCL transfer. We arrived at the cruise ship terminal about 30 minutes later and walked ...

We chose this cruise because we were going to be in the Seattle area the week before and it was our 50th wedding anniversary. Our second cruise in 2019. The other cruise being on another cruise line, OCEANIA Over all I would give the Norwegian bliss a C+ We had arranged a excursion in the port of Ketchikan and due to high and rough seas we were not able to get into port. I know that the ...

I picked the Norwegian Bliss, because it was a new ship and NCL was recommended to me. The embarkation in Seattle went smoothly (we were on board by 11.30am), we were given access to our cabin by 12.30pm and all our prebooked excursions vouchers and the on board credit, was waiting for us in the cabin or on our account. The things NCL got right - Bliss is beautiful inside. Our cabin ...

We had a wonderful time on our Alaska cruise on the Bliss from Seattle. First, I would like to praise the captain who made a couple of difficult decisions regarding when to leave a port and to skip a port. When we were in Skagway there were extremely high winds (50+ mph) and delayed our leaving the port for 6 hours but hardly affected our itinerary in Glacier Bay. The other decision was to not ...

Big Ship, Inadequate public spaces

We chose to cruise Alaska on this ship to experience a 'big' ship with all it had to offer: go carts, laser tag, water slides, broadway style shows. We are all experienced cruisers but had never sailed on a ship this size. There are positives about this ship but more negatives. First and foremost, there are not enough public spaces. As there were six of us, we were always looking for a ...

Disappointed in the lack of service in our stateroom, had to deep reminding the steward to empty trash, provide toilet paper, tissues and towels. Very disappointed in lack of space (seating) in the public areas like the Atrium and Observation deck. Also found that much of what we wanted to do was already booked on our first day. The cruise skipped going to Ketchikan due to weather, but no ...

Picked this cruise for our 30 year wedding anniversary. The cruise itself was nice but we had a great time early on but later not so much. The first stop in Juneau was nice. We wanted to do the Whale watch with Mendnehall glacer but it sold out quickly. We were able to pick up the same thing off ship with a private company. The disembarkation was slow so we had little time to see much at ...

We chose this cruise because an "expert" told us this was the best way to see Alaska. We disagree completely after this experience. The actual ship itself was beautiful as we know it was just about a year old. Booking was not clear and seamed like everything was "extra" which is odd for a typical cruise. Once booked at not the best price by any means, the process from there of checking in etc was ...

An absolutely outstanding cruise! The cabin steward. was very personable, efficient and attentive to maintaining the supplies in the cabin. All of the restaurant staff were very professional and courteous. Le Bistro and Cagney's were similar to dining in a four star restaurant with great service, presentation and quality of the dishes. Taste was especially a good place for breakfast that was ...

This was our honeymoon. My husband and I flew into Seattle 3 days early. Rent a car and travel to the Boeing plant. Worth the trip! Stayed at the Westin, nice hotel. Ship The ship is gorgeous, and feels brand new. From the dining areas to the deck layouts, it all feels very modern. Common areas are spacious but the elevator situation, especially forward, leaves a lot to be ...
