Let’s start with the good tomatoes;
NCL App easy to use
Cabin was really comfortable including the bed. I stayed in the Studio Lounge as a solo traveller. The lounge provided coffee and tea facilities along with cake and biscuits.
Staff were super friendly and helpful no matter when they were working
Entertainment in the theatre was spectacular!
A wide choice of bars and ...
We did a nine-day Mediterranean cruise on the Breakaway with our four (mostly teenage) children. We have cruised on NCL and RC previously. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this ship, though there are certainly some drawbacks when you are sharing a ship with four thousand other people. The seemingly endless upselling can also get to be a drag.
Here’s more detailed ...
European itinerary appealed to us. Everything on/off this ship was a struggle; meals, shore excursions, etc. - transfer from airport was a nightmare. We booked airfare through the cruise line due to discounts, but upon arrival in Rome there was no organization to get the cruisers on the transfer busses. The Norwegian folks there were totally ineffective. It took us over 3 hours to get on a bus, ...
I went on a 9 day Greek Isles & Southern Italy cruise with Norwegian and it was so bad that I left after day 3. The entire ship was between 78-82 degrees fahrenheit and my room was close to 80 which is not even close to being considered an expected/normal temp inside. I need to sleep in a room around 68-70 degrees.
The restaurants were all abysmal cafeteria like quality food with everything ...
We booked this cruise for my husbands 50th Birthday. Even though we had the unlimited beverage package we noticed there we were charges in my card everytime we ordered a drink. According to guest services it was a 10% European tax fee that every guest had to pay and it was not notified. After that, due to the amount of people complaining they put signs in every bar announcing the charge. They ...
I have cruised about tan times in the past 8 years with multiple cruise line companies. This was my third time cruising with Norwegian. NCL had good prices and had three perks (drinks, specialty dining, and $50 off excursions per cabin per day) that attracted me to the cruise. What they did not disclose were all of the hidden costs they would tack on. Even though you have a “free” drink package ...
Was on a cruise previously with Norwegian.
The service was excellent then and we dicided to go with their bigger ship this time round. The service, food, restaurants, staff and entertainment (Leo in particular) all superb and would do again.
Leo from the Philippines played the guitar and mouth organ in one of the bar areas and was absolutely top notch. His ability to remember people's names ...
We picked this cruise for the stops. However we will not be cruising Norwegian again. After 20 cruises on Carnival and being on our first and only Norwegian, we were very disappointed. Most employees were not friendly, all employees are always dress in formal clothing. Cruise director never shared what’s happening and where on the ship, you have to make a reservation to see the shows and get off ...
The good.. The ship was awesome and the ports during the Greek Isles cruise were all amazing , with exception to Olympia, which many on the ship considered a waste of what could've potentially been a full day at sea headed to Malta instead. It would've been nice to be able to enjoy the ship more and what it had to offer. Eliminating that port would've been great. This would've also allowed more ...
We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary but everything else was fantastic. The staff were all excellent and very friendly - so key when you’re on vacation. The ship was kept very clean. The food ( selection and quality ) was great. We loved all the specialty restaurants that we tried. We had reserved dining before our cruise sail date so we were lucky. I had heard that others found it ...
