Terrible Experience on Norwegian Dawn

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Norwegian has been my favorite cruise line for a number of years (Hawaii, Panama Canal, Havana to name a few) but the British Isles - England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales was terrible! The minimal cabin staff was noticeable - I didn’t even see him until the 3rd day of the sail - no turn down service - no cute towel animals - I really missed the personal service that Norwegian used to give. ...

Bittersweet First NCL experience

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

This was my first NCL cruise and I do not know if I want to come back so soon. We had a lot of lovely experiences, but also some terrible ones. I have cruised many times on other lines such as Royal C., Holland, and Carnival. Cabin: Our room on deck 11 was a nightmare (details below). I have never had this many maintenance issues with lack of help from guest services. CD/ Entertainment: The ...

Not what NCL used to be

After waiting four years through COVID DW and I finally got to cruise the British Isles. Definitely a bucket list checkmark accomplishment. I ended up really frustrated with the service and value of NCL. This cruise pushed us in to the Gold level in Latitude Rewards, so it was hardly our first rodeo. The highlights of a cruise to us are living a life of luxury beyond what we have at home- ...

Loved the staff & cruise but worst communication ever...beware of tender ports & never take the flights

We had a fabulous cruise but thought we only had 1 tender port...we had 3 and each one was a total disaster. people were lined up for as much as 2 hours waiting for a tender with no communication from the ship. same thing happened on a bus excursion - 2 buses had an accident but no one told the guests so we sat there for 90 minutes waiting.terrible communication definitely need some guest ...

Not the best experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

This was our very first cruise and may be our last. We do NOT care for crowds at all and this entire experience was nothing but one crowded mess. How anyone finds standing in endless lines, being herded like cattle, and cramped up like sardines fun and enjoyable is beyond me. We went on a cruise as it was the only practical way for us to tour the Inside Passage of Alaska. We do not fly on ...

Nice cruise to Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We chose this cruise because of the many ports visited which larger ships cannot provide. The NCL Sun was nicely refurbished a couple of years ago and it shows. Nevertheless, it is an older ship without the latest technology onboard. Internet is rather slow, and they still take food orders manually. Cabins are not spacious as the newer ships. Public areas smaller than new ships. Being a ...

Great Cruise and good value for money.

We boarded the Norwegian Sun in Seattle and sailed up the west coast of Canada and USA to Alaska. The scenery was amazing and we stopped at several interesting towns with small communities on route as well as the impressive glaziers flowing into the sea. We travelled on the White Pass and Yukon Railway which followed the route from the coast up towards the Klondike taken by the prospectors during ...

Ports and Price made this an excellent value.

I wanted a cruise that went to Glacier Bay and multiple ports. This was an eleven night cruise which gave us plenty of time to explore the ports and relax on the ship. The crew were friendly and I liked the entertainment staff. This is an older ship that does not have many bells and whistles and it seemed to attract an older crowd. It is a small ship and that made it easy to get off and on at ...

Cruising Thru Splendid Scenery

Overall, the cruise was enjoyable. However, the obvious theme of cost cutting continues at NCL. The most egregious example was the “Ketchikan” port call, which was actually to Ward Cove. Rather than actually docking in Ketchikan, the ship docked at a sketchy industrial port about a 20 minute drive away and transported guests in equally sketchy school buses to town. Upon arriving in town, guests ...

False and misleading Norwegian Cruise Line

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise because it was our 50 th Wedding Anniversary, and my wife really wanted to go to Ireland. The Cruise was a perfect way of visiting the ports of the Emerald Isle. While the ship was pretty nice, and the food was pretty good, the whole experience was ruined by our cabin location and the unwillingness of Customer Service to do ANYTHING about it. FREE AT SEA is a lie. ...
