Cruise or Prison Ship?

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Sky

This was a 10 day cruise out of Quebec with stops in Sagunay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Portland, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, and ending in Baltimore. Due to hurricane Lee, we missed Sydney and Portland, then finally, on the only day that it wasn't raining, we skipped Martha's Vineyard due to "sea conditions and wind." It was a beautiful day, so now it's another two sea days. All told, in 10 days we ...

Is NCL Slipping?

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

When it came time to book our very first cruise, we researched everything we could...dining options, entertainment, onboard amenities, itineraries...and we decided that NCL offered what we wanted. Freestyle dining? Yes please! Wide range of entertainment including Broadway shows? Heck yeah! Interesting itineraries? Yep, lots to choose from. Sadly, much of what led us to NCL is no longer ...

Never Again with Norwegian

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Sky

We picked this cruise as it was sold as 8 ports of call with only 2 days at sea, and it ended up being virtually the opposite - 7 days at sea. Rather than stay in port along the St. Lawrence, the Captain opted to go into the Atlantic and outrun Hurricane Lee. His actions appeared to be in the sole interest of getting the ship back to Balitmore to pick up the next 2,000 guests versus prioritizing ...

Lots of opportunities to waste your money

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Jade

This is the second cruise we’ve been on with NCL. (The first was on the Pearl.) We’ve been wanting to go to Greece for a while now. Our travel agent told us a cruise would be the best way to see a variety of the islands. First of all their website is slow and horrible. When you purchase anything it takes a while to show up on your account. Don’t bother uploading your photo. We tried several times ...

Disappointing

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Escape

Have sailed NCL many times and it has always been one of my favorites. But the Escape is in need of a refresh, ship was run down, furniture, paint, cabins, overall, in shabby condition. Ship was very short staffed and you could feel it. The usual friendly, smiling service was missing, the limited staff is likely overworked and tired. Bar staff was almost rude with their kurt replies and ignoring ...

Smokers Cruise, Others be Warned

NCL did a great job of avoiding Hurricane Lee. It was fine that we had to seek safe harbor in NY for the last 3 days of our cruise. The food was great, Choir of Man was fabulous and the staff worked hard to keep us comfortable. However, we encountered some serious problems. #1 was the InEscapable Smoke Cloud on the Escape, no matter where we went on the ship. Bars, Lounges, inside, ...

Disappointing Norwegian Cruise Experience to New England and Canada

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Escape

My recent Norwegian cruise to New England and Canada left me with mixed feelings and a deep sense of disappointment. While the picturesque destinations were undoubtedly beautiful, the overall experience was marred by poor customer service and signs of cost-cutting measures throughout the cruise. Canceled Ports of Call: The first major setback of our cruise was the unexpected cancellation of ...

New England Foliage (River) Cruise September 10th -17th, 2023 - or how to float in the NYC Harbor

First of all this is not a criticism - we enjoyed our cruise and the Escape is a lovely ship. The weather is never something that can be predicted and/or avoided. Highlights of the cruise included embarkation that was flawless, on the ship by 11:30AM rooms were ready at 2:30PM. And then the weather hit. Flight delays and cancellations for many booked passengers, due to east coast weather and ...

Great itinerary, lovely weather, ship could be better

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, sailing dates, and to use a 20% discount certificate that was issued by NCL due to canceling the Epic's winter Mediterranean sailings. The terms were rather restrictive and this sailing qualified. We booked about 3 months ahead, so we were within the final payment date and could only use one CruiseNext certificate. NCL would not budge on this, despite ...

Hurrican Lee forced our cruiseship skipped two ports in Canada

We have been cruising Canada & New England three times before. But since we bought $1,000 worth of the CruiseNext coupon we decided to give us a break by booking this cruise and enjoy it leisurely. Oh boy, leisurely it indeed it was. We heard the captain announced from the bridge that the ship will skip Bar Harbor and Helifax, going straight to St. John, NB directly, then it will sail ...
