We did almost the same itinerary in 2018 on the Escape and loved it, this trip added Newport R.I. Check-in and boarding was a breeze, no issues at all. Balcony stateroom was just as expected and perfectly clean. The steward was polite and made sure we were taken care of.
Dining was great, no issues at all with service or quality of the food. Dinner twice at La Cucina, once at Cagney's and ...
Our previous cruise with NCL in Mar 23 was very disappointing and we vowed not to cruise with them again, however, we came across this reasonably priced and local cruise for us around the British Isles, Holland, Belgium and France. We expected the worse, but were pleasantly surprised. The ship is a bit tired in places and the décor old fashioned but we liked it. It was clean and spotless ...
This was supposed to have been a cruise of a lifetime. We had been planning this cruise for five years. We were so disappointed.
First the food... We booked with a coupon for four specialty restaurants. The first was the steak house Cagney. I have had better steaks at Western Sizzlen. I got the filet, medium well. it was literality burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. My wife ...
This was a last minute booking, literally. We were docking in Southampton on a Celebrity Cruise when we booked this sailing departing two days later. Previously only sailed with Seabourn and Celebrity, if we had accepted the poor reviews of this ship at face value we would never have booked it - and that would have been a shame.
All the speciality dining restaurants were excellent to the extent ...
I am posting my comments about the NCL Ireland cruise we took from 9/23 - 10/3. This post is for people who have not yet taken this cruise so they can see all of the issues we encountered and hopefully they will reconsider.
- Three ports (all tenders) were canceled due to a bad storm going through Ireland. The captain said he canceled the ports because of safety concerns. But he should have ...

I am John and my wife, Eve, took this cruise after spending a day touring London. The drive to the port from our London hotel was 2 hours away. NCL wanted everyone on board by 2 pm, so we knew it would be tight. We were making good time until we got off and hit Southampton local traffic, then everything turned to a crawl. Later, we found that there was a boat show going ...
we choose this cruise as a way to explore mediterranean ports italy , france , greece and malta. ship was full capacity excursions were not well organized with a lot of delays late starts traffic , congestion at boat transfer . it took literally hours to get to transfers on tenders and busses . time spent on each excursion was cut short because of an early ship departure . very disappointed of the ...
I went on this particular ship on the recommendation of my traveling companion. She had been on the Star a few years ago and said how wonderful the accommodations, the fabulous food and entertainment had been. Sign me up! I don't know what ship she was on but it wasn't this one. The cabin was fine; what was to be expected. The food was horrifying!
It was so unappetizing. Sometimes I ...
I choose this cruise because we wanted to cruise the Mediterranean. The ship is beautiful. We usually cruise an inside cabin to save money. When I entered the comforter was not clean. The room looked a bit disheveled. The room steward fixed the problem and was very nice. However 10 days we had cleaning carts outside our rooms in the hallway. It must have been where they stored them.
The ...
We (3 couples) chose this cruise for the canada/new england/fall foliage itinerary. The norweigen pearl is in great shape and the stateroom was comfortable and adequately served (once per day.) service on board was very good, a friendly and helpful staff by and large. Meals in the main dining room were very good, as was the specialty restaurant, la cucina. I didn't enjoy the teppanyaki dining: ...
