Ok it has been about 8 years since i was on NCl.. I had no choice this time we were in Washington state. So we wanted to see what everyone has been talking about the Alaska cruise experience!!! Which is only OK. never again. everthing off boat was so over priced.. 8dollar beers fish and chip 23.00 p.p. Crabs start half crab 69.00 dollars and goes up fast..
Ok RCCL need to take ...
We wanted to try an Alaskan cruise, but it wasn't what we expected. We have taken over 20 Caribbean cruises and this was quite dull in comparison. Most passengers were elderly retirees so there was no night life and the experience was very subdued.
The dining was on par with other mid sized NCL cruise ships. Most of the restaurants and menu are the same on all their cruise ...
This is our 7th trip to Alaska on the Pearl. We did notice the changes from the dry dock earlier this year. Overall, pretty nice. Newer, fresher, more modern but did not lose the feel of the Pearl. Glad they cleaned the Chihuly Glass sculpture in Atrium. His artwork is displayed across the back wall of Customer Service.
We had an aft Penthouse Suite this time. We really love the aft perspective ...
No issues worth writing about. For the most part, this Alaskan cruise on the Pearl was just as expected - great! While the employees mentioned that with the recent merge/acquisition with a luxury line, there was a pay cut to most of them, their attitudes rarely reflected this. I know how hard they work and the endless hours put in, so simply by smiling through the hardship takes effort. They ...
Chose NCL because it went to a couple of new Alaska ports for me but the ship was disappointing. Very jarring decor of purple and bright jade throughout with rap music over the sound system in the quiet observation lounge while trying to relax with coffee one morning and enjoy the amazing scenery. Was charged corkage for the wine I carried onboard even though I drank it in my cabin. NCL charges ...
Norwegian pearl horribly lacked seating...absolutely no outside along the decks. Only around the pool (by the way i would never recommend this ship for warm weather sailing because the two pools and 4 jacuzzis are side by side....so every one on the ship would be crammed in to the same area). This ship is horribly lacking in entertainment!! It was a big waste of time and money!! We have sailed ...
Alaska was a bucket list for us, so when we booked we were fortunate to have several family and friends join us. This was a trip of a lifetime ! No rain in Alaska for 7 days unheard of. The food was excellent and everyone could certainly find something good to eat. The staff were very wonderful and pleasant all the time. We had 6 balconies and 3 inside cabins for all 17 of and the house ...
Loved that that boat being newly refurbished, it was updated and clean. The service was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the entertainment. Loved the ports visited and the favorite day was Glacier Bay. We saw a good bit of wildlife, whales, otters, eagles, dolphins, seals and a porcupine. Loved Mendenhall Glacier and had the best salmon at the salmon bake. The guitar player was great ...
All and all it is was great cruise, there were a few missteps along the way but nothing major in my book. Ship was overall very clean, our cabin was spotless, and well cared for. Overall the ship could use a bit of paint touch-up here and there, but it all works fine.
Dining seemed to be kind of hit and miss, Cagney's was better than average, but I've been to better steak houses. La Cucina was ...
My family/friends and I (group of 6 – age 32-59) returned, on 9/17/2017, from a 7 day cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Pearl. We chose the Pearl as the ship description stated that it was newly refurbished. We selected 3 ocean view balcony rooms at a very hefty expense. While I cannot say enough about the beauty of Alaska, I have a lot to report regarding the actual cruise itself. I have ...
