My husband and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary by finally taking our honeymoon on this cruise. An Alaskan cruise has always been on my bucket list. I saved for months and was so excited as this was my first cruise. I was extremely disappointed by the food, the service, the extra charges that added up to more than $500, the short time at Juneau and the overall feel from the crew. This was the ...
We have been to Alaska 6 times and twice on the Pearl -- all have been on Norwegian! We were on the Pearl in 2011 and was great and now we did it again on the Pearl and it was fantastic! I must say this was 1 of my favorite cruises to Alaska out of the 6 -- the rest were in the Caribbean.
The Pearl is refurbished and it looks fantastic!
The embarkation and disembarkation smooth as ...
Staff was great, ship was in good shape, dining in specialty restaurants fabulous !
Buffet was exhausting as was finding seating for buffet. Because of this, we avoided buffet as much as possible eating in main dining room(s) and specialty restaurants (extra charge).
Balcony cabin was well cared for and room steward handled every request.
Did not participate in any entertainment or ...
My husband and I are in our mid-40's. This was our 4th cruise to Alaska. We chose this cruise because the price was so reasonable and we really love Juneau and Victoria.
For this cruise we decided to try a mini-suite. We were put in room 11558 which was mid ship, port side. We loved our room! Having a little entry table was great for putting our room keys and things we wanted to grab ...
Did a last minute booking on NCL Pearl to Alaska. This was my first time cruising and enjoyed most parts of the experience.
-- I had booked a balcony cabin, which was fairly good size. Even though they claim it can accommodate 4 people, I found it appropriate for 2 adults and 2 kids (definitely not 4 adults). Room amenities were standard and nothing is included the prepaid packages, Enough ...
We have previously cruised with Carnival and Princess. The Pearl was very nice ship, however, a little dirty when things could simply have been wiped down. Unlike the Ruby princess when we felt everything felt spotless. Also considering the Pearl was in drydock and re-done this year, looked little old for such recent upgrade. The service the entire trip was excellent and 5 stars. Every crew member ...
The cruise to Alaska was my next great cruise destination. It would give me a sampling of areas in Alaska that I might want to go back and visit again for extended stays.
The food and service were poor to say the least. The people staffing the galley would do better shoveling garbage for meals in most of the restaurants onboard this cruise.
Thank goodness they stopped in ports so I could ...
Background: 1. Been on Caribbean and Mexican cruises 6 total, but they were many years ago therefore I expected some changes. 2. Live near Seattle so no flight or hotel just drop off at the pier.
Ship and room: The Pearl looked fantastic to us and turned out to be fantastic! We booked a "Penthouse Suite" #10002" that came with a butler. (as time permits I will try to put a "September 2017 ...
This was our 6th cruise, but the first on Norwegian. The Pearl is about the right size to fit our tastes. The ship was built I Germany in 2006 and underwent a major refurb this year. Everything was clean and perfect. We sailed round trip to Alaska from Seattle the last week of Sept. Icy Strait was OK. not a lot to do there but it is an interesting story about how the town is trying to save ...
This was their final cruise to Alaska for the year. I've done it before, so knew what to expect...but this was really sub-par. Food was poor, service was lackadaisical, all the staff on the ship were just interested in getting back to warmer weather. They were "out" of everything. We had good "off ship" shore experiences, which was the only positive part. Very disappointed. The buffet food was ...
