We have been to Alaska 6 times and twice on the Pearl -- all have been on Norwegian! We were on the Pearl in 2011 and was great and now we did it again on the Pearl and it was fantastic! I must say this was 1 of my favorite cruises to Alaska out of the 6 -- the rest were in the Caribbean.

Staff was great, ship was in good shape, dining in specialty restaurants fabulous !
Buffet was exhausting as was finding seating for buffet. Because of this, we avoided buffet as much as possible eating in main dining room(s) and specialty restaurants (extra charge).

We have previously cruised with Carnival and Princess. The Pearl was very nice ship, however, a little dirty when things could simply have been wiped down. The cruise to Alaska was my next great cruise destination. It would give me a sampling of areas in Alaska that I might want to go back and visit again for extended stays.
The food and service were poor to say the least. The people staffing the galley would do better shoveling garbage for meals in most of the restaurants onboard this cruise.
