My wife and I finally were able to complete our long awaited Panama Canal cruise which had been postponed twice due to covid. We typically cruise NCL (me - Sapphire, wife - Platinum) and love the Jewel class ships. After staying two nights in the Panama Hilton (wonderful!) on the NCL pre-cruise package we were off to meet the ship in Colon. We opted out of NCL's transportation as my wife ...

Great Cruise; A Few Minor Concerns

We recently completed a 15 day Panama Canal crossing trip on the NCL Bliss. Overall, this cruise was an excellent and enjoyable experience. That said, some improvements could be made: Two excellent plays, “Jersey Boys” and “Six” were each shown 4 times. However, the ticketing computers indicted all shows were sold out the first night of the cruise. Given the theater seats nearly 1,000 ...

Good, the bad and the ugly

My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted to go through the new canal and end up in Miami to visit friends. The ugly, embarkation process was a joke. Many passengers did not get on the ship until late afternoon, total confusion by the staff at the terminal. Many staterooms were not ready until four. On many days staterooms were not cleaned until after two and sometimes later. We ...

Booked to experience Panamá Canal and Costa Rica, unfortunately CR was taken off itinerary and replaced with Acapulco (not a fair trade off) PC was very interesting and a knowledgeable local guide gave interesting commentary. Puerto Quetzal Guatemala was also intriguing. Mayan ruins excursion was good, enjoyed scenery along journey to highlands. Nice shopping at port, beautiful handmade items, ...

We wanted to do the Panama Canal, so we booked this cruise. Shortly after booking it in September 2022 they cancelled stops in Costa Rica and Nicaragua without a reason or refund. Then in December they sent a notice stating the ship would sail from Berth 46 in Los Angeles. A google check showed that the berth had zero facilities which made no sense as it was the middle of winter. Even So Cal has ...

Relaxing and fun--except for embarkation and debarkation!

This was a bucket list cruise to go through the Panama Canal and we were traveling with another couple. We are very casual cruisers so we don't expect gourmet top of the line food (truth--we eat at the buffet a lot) or white glove service and we were very satisfied with both the food (ate at Cagneys twice--excellent and Ocean Blue once--also excellent) and service were great. We ate a few times ...

On this cruise it was me (56), my husband (60), and a group of 8 others. We met two of them on a cruise last year, and they invited us to join them and their family members on this one. This was cruise #16 for us with 8 on NCL, our first as Platinum. We originally booked OV and did some price drops and used points to upgrade to balcony deck 8. Our cruise was the Feb 22 Jewel 10 day sailing ...

Want to sail the Norwegian Jewel? You may want to read this first. If you wonder why the ship is cheap, there is a reason. First time sailors don't be fooled. You have better choices. Need internet? Choose another ship as this one's complicated system robs you of minutes every time you turn it on and turn it off (many ports do have free internet, except Colon, Panama- Cartagena and Santa ...

My wife and I booked this Panama Canal cruise back in August 2022. We used the Norwegian people to book this cruise so you would think they would know their ships. A inside cabin was requested and booked. Once we got on board we discovered that there was 2 sizes of inside cabins, The one we got was 5 square feet shorter than the other inside cabin. It was so small that you only had inches ...

Excellent Crew Service

Chose this cruise to get away from the cold. Embarking was very well done as was debarking. The ship itself is in excellent shape. The other guests were not sensitive for the needs of people with disabilities and sat at designated handicaped tables in the buffet during the entire cruise. Service was the best ever on a Norwegian ship never a negative thought. The public areas of the ...
