I chose this cruise because a group of local people were traveling together. How pleased I was with the total package. The choice of 3 specialty restaurants and the beverage package made the trip fun and less stressful. I loved my choices for dinning and it as great not to billed for drink. All the food from the buffet to the best steakhouse was excellent. Family members had been on this ship ...

Not so friendly

1- Unlike other cruise lines, drinking package doesn’t include bottled water and specialty coffee!!!!!! You have to pay extra for those! Unbelievable 2- Not so baby friendly cruise! 1- no baby with diaper is allowed in the pool, even swimming diaper is not permitted 2- the only indoor swimming pool is a 18+ and at extra fee. So family having young baby gets no pool to enjoy at all!!! 3- ...

We are from north Jersey and look for sailings from NYC or Cape Liberty. We were never on this ship so it was chosen. We have done this itinerary many times before so the ship is of the most importance to us. This was our 46th cruise so our comparisons to what should be expected are well defined. I will start from the best aspect of the cruise and continue from there. SERVICE/STAFF - Without ...

We took this cruise from Nov 11-18th 2918 with our Grandson who was 6 years old on Nov 17th. Embarkation was swift took only 30 minutes 11:30 am. Our cabins were not ready we were directed to eat at Taste for the lunch which was great. The rooms were ready by 1 PM. We were on room 12220 a balcony with a sofa bed for our grandson. After emergency drill we went and registered our grandson in the ...

A Disappointment

We chose this cruise as we heard great things about Norwegian and it left out of our home port - New York. I thought this was a win-win for us. I was wrong. The ship was packed and every where you went there were massive crowds. Okay, I get that. However, you couldn't get a reservation for most of the specialty restaurants and the ones we did get - - Italian and Steakhouse were awful. We did ...

Just DON'T

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Let's just start off by saying that the customer service was awful. No one offered to assist in any way for anything, snapped my sail pass card out of my hand several times, never greeted you in passing, and the lines to even get a drink at any of the bars was too long to even bother - no waiters going around either. The food.. awful. Cafeteria food unless you go to the Specialty Dining - ...

We had a wonderful time on the Gem! We’ve met new friends along the way also the ship has a friendly crew. The Gem seemed like it was lacking crewmen. Service was somewhat subpar in some cases. Service at Cagneys on our second specialty reservation was awful. Any ways we had a great time on her. I was not impressed with the casino staff, I had requested my points to be transferred from the other ...

Older Demographic - Weird Logistics - Boring Cruise

I sailed this cruise on November 4th. I made the most of a bad situation and had a good time despite the many quirks. I wouldn't go NCL again, I'll stick with Royal Caribbean. I'm a young 45 and my guest is 40. The crowd was older and often the dance floors were empty. Talk about boring! It was difficult to find a quiet space on the ship to read since 5,000 people were confirmed to be on ...

I will start by saying the ship was absolutely beautiful and is very well maintained. The staff was mostly helpful and extremely nice. The food was about the same as we have seen on other cruise lines, nothing that stood out. That being said, there were several experiences that left me disappointed. First, Escape holds over 4,200 passengers, which made it feel like Christmas at a shopping mall ...

Let me start by saying we just got back from the Norwegian Escape, during NJ Week. This is a week that all NJ schools are closed for 2-3 days, so it's a popular time for families to go with school-age children. We went with 4 teenagers (15-17) and a toddler (less than 3). We booked this trip for a few reasons: It sailed from NYC so we didn't have to fly, it looked VERY family/kid friendly, it ...
