For the amount of money we paid for this cruise I expected a higher level of service from the staff and more attention to detail. The private Haven area left a whole lot to be desired. The private pool area is a joke, the pool was the size of a plunge pool two people in it would have been too many
Also while you're in that Haven pool area there's also dining in that area so while you're trying ...
It started out rocky when we had zero idea where to deposit our bags- so we were one of the few dragging our bags through the entire check in process. We asked for assistance or direction of where we should drop them and were told to just keep bringing them with us.... not exactly easy but we did it. The ship itself is updated and clean. The pool area is very small. This is my 4th cruise and ...
The Breakaway was amazing but with two caveats. The entertainment was beyond fantastic. Rock of Ages Musical was fantastic and Tenors of Rock was like going to a rock concert. Really enjoyed. The only minus you have to make reservations for everything. It's easy to do on the touch screens but remind your customers to do it asap when getting on ship. The main pool is a bit small for ...
We sailed on the Norwegian Breakaway departing from New Orleans on 2/17/19. The ship itself is very nice and well kept.
I am a travel agent and compared to the Carnival and Disney cruises I've been on, Norwegian has some catching up to do. It will be hard for me to recommend Norwegian to my travel prospects based on my experience.
It felt as though on this cruise we were being nickled and ...
This was our second inter-generational family trip on Norwegian, and it was a great one for almost everyone in the family. We were originally a little worried that there were too many sea days, but it turned out that we enjoyed these are even more than the port days, because of the opportunity to relax. We made great use of our forward balcony, even on days when the ship was moving.
Our ...
We had a fantastic time on the Breakaway. Overall our Mid-Ship Balcony Mini-suite on deck 11 was perfect, food was great, and we loved the Entertainment.
Food - We ate at 3 Specialty restaurants. Le Bistro, La Cucina, and Ocean Blue. The ambiance at Le Bistro was quiet and peaceful. I had the beef filet which was incredible and the creme brulee was very good as well. La Cucina I had pasta ...
We were in cabin 9920 which was great, our cabin steward was the most attentive and meticulous we have had in 24 cruises. But the whole experience lacked class, when the beverage package did not even include water. Harvest Caye is a rip off. Beverage package did not apply. Food and beverages were extremely over priced on Harvest Caye. Shame on NCL for this cheap tactic. Pick another cruise line if ...
This is our 3rd cruise with Norwegian. We were traveling with my husband's parents as our retirement gift to them. We chose this cruise because it left from New Orleans, which is within driving distance to us.
Embarkation:
A terrible experience! It took us about 2 hours to get on the ship. I don't blame Norwegian for this because the design of the terminal is extremely poor.
Terminal ...
We go on four vacations every year (cruises, all inclusive resorts, European, etc), and our cruise on the Breakaway was the most disappointing vacation to date.
I’ll start with the few good things about the experience.
Cleanliness: The ship was kept very clean the entire time. They take pride in making sure that it is kept as germ free as possible. They have staff dedicated to dispensing ...
This was our 6th cruise, but first one in a few years as recent vacations have been to beach resorts. This was also our first cruise with NCL. We picked this itinerary based on sailing date, 10 day duration and sailing from New Orleans. We spend 4 nights in New Orleans pre cruise which definitely put us in vacation mode prior to boarding the ship.
Embarkation was smooth. We had heard a lot ...
