Spring Break

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Chose this cruise to go with grand kids on spring break. Not a fan of the larger ships. The pool area was extremely crowded and we could not spend time in any pool with the teenage grands - they had to use the kid's pool. Had the specialty dinner package but could not use it as all restaurants were booked. The same with the shows (small theatres - too many people) Could not get into ...

This was my 8th trip on this ship alone. Now, I love the Breakaway and it will always hold a special place in my heart. However, had this been my first trip, I would have been greatly disappointed by a lot of the service I received and things I saw around the ship. Ship - It needs a touch up here and there but overall it is ok. It has gotten on in years and you expect the normal wear and ...

Went with a group fro HS spring break. Had a great time. Got our money's worth from drink package, lot of top shelf.booze was we figured out how to order. Tipped bar tender first night and he took care of us. Specialty dining was okay overall. The Teppanyaki and Cagneys were excellent. The Brazilian steakhouse was just okay. Dining in Mannattan Room was fine and we could have ate there every ...

Decided to go to the Western Carribbean (Cozumel, Costa Maya and Belize). We left from New Orleans. The excursions were fun and a way to get a feel of the areas. The Spice Farm and Botanical Gardens in Belize was informative and interesting but I would not do it again. We had a 40 minute boat ride then and 1 hour long bus ride to get to the location. Once there, we rode in a tram pulled by a ...

This was our 5th cruise with NCL. Overall I think Norwegian did a good job. This was also our first experience in a Haven suite. While we were in the Haven complex, we had an aft penthouse balcony. I think in all the cruises we've ever done, this was the first one I noticed we were spending more time in our room. The balcony was just fantastic. As a first time cruiser in the Haven, I did go ...

Breakaway way improved from last year

Went on the Breakaway out of New Orleans last year and it was not a great trip. Food was not great, staff not friendly. This year it was a different ship. Food was AWESOME, staff was way more friendly and the ship was a lot cleaner. But that may be from recently failing a health inspection and waiting on new inspection. Either way the ship was a lot better. The shows as always are great. ...

We chose this cruise last minute for our spring break. The ship was at full capacity, but from the beginning it felt like we left half the crew in New Orleans. As a result there were many times throughout the cruise where you could feel the tension and stress the crew was dealing with having to serve a full capacity ship all week. I heard this same complaint of understaffing from many others as ...

This was a spring break trip for our best friends family and we were invited to go along for the ride. What a great decision! We had never cruised before so didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be one of the best vacations we've ever had. The Breakaway ship and crew were incredible, the options on the boat amazing, the entertainment top notch, and the overall experience couldn't have ...

My husband and I choose this cruise for our 10 ur anniversary. We have cruised carnival several times but opted for Norwegian this time believing it was an upgrade from carnival. The breakaway is HUGE therefor holding many more passengers than any carnival cruise we’ve been on. Embarkation went very quickly which was a good sign. We were able to immediately get into our room which also was a plus. ...

NOLA was a blast as always, got there the day before. We parked at Fulton Garage without incident, no shuttle wait at all. Breakaway embarkation at noon was fast, painless. Traffic there is a nightmare with the construction. I have no idea if parking at the pier was any easier. Stayed in cabin 12780. Excellent location right by the front stairs. A forward facing angled balcony, the extra room ...
