Nickel and Dime you to death!

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Will not go on NCL in the future. We loved the ports, enjoyed our time on tours. Nice ship, poor management. They charge extra for everything. Experienced cruiser so no excuses for all the nickel and dime extras. Even charge for some of the entertainment. Never before on a ship that you have to schedule a time to see a show. Disembarkation a nightmare at best. This cruse ship lets the guests ...

Never Again on a ship this large

We have been on quite a few sailing on cruise ships, but never on one that carried over 4,000 passengers. We had booked a mini-suite and it was nice, especially the larger bathroom. But the balcony was the smallest we have ever encountered (two chairs really filled it up). We were almost exactly "mid ship" and there are only fore and aft elevators, so it was always a walk down the narrow ...

We chose this cruise because we were going with family and they liked Norwegian and were Platinum members. The waiters at all of our dinners were very slow. It took a long time to get our food. Refills were very hard to get. We ordered the birthday package for our son and a cake for one of our specialty dinners and the cake was sitting in our room when we got their the first day which was not what ...

RUN like the wind....

I would have loved to give this cruise a higher grade, but the thing that stands out in my mind is my in-port shopping experience at Diamonds International which over-shadowed everything else. The dining experience was fine and I can't say anything negative. We were lucky enough to have a balcony on this cruise and it was definitely worth the money. Although they could've done better, the ...

The cruise was pretty good. There were a couple of things that we weren’t happy about but for the most part it was good. The pools are definitely not big enough on this ship. I do love that the kids have there own area but the pools I give an C. Also the smoking area needs a fan of some sort by the pool area that is closed in and I understand there is an open glass space but a fan needs ...

Worst cruise ever

In March 2016, we boarded the NCL Getaway looking forward to a relaxing vacation. On the second night, a man jumped over the railing on Deck 15 and hit the roof of Deck 6 by the Sunset lounge, and passed away. Needless to say this cast a shadow over the rest of the cruise so I decided to try it again and booked another week aboard the Getaway leaving June 30th. The room was dirty when we arrived. ...

Four Ships Within One

Haven Embarkation - NCL put you in a tiny room and then took us upstairs to a holding area similar to an airline gate area. The small room is tiny and the new terminal will take care of that lame first impression. Disembarkation - Very unfair to NCL to complain because this cruise was the one where the crew member went over and could not be found at sea when we went back to look for him. ...

I sailed the Norwegian Sky four day cruise to Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau. I was a first time cruiser. Had an amazing time. I was traveling with 17 friends. We did the upgraded dining package. The crew made every effort to accommodate our large group. The food in all of the upscale dining restaurants was wonderful. This ship is a little older and not quite as posh as some of the other vessels ...

Loved everything about this cruise

We were looking for a cruise for our first time ever cruising. We had a small budget and small numbers of days. So we chosed this cruise because it was ecxactly that. Short, inexpensive, but yet a big cruise experience. Usually you expect a three night cruise not to have too much available because of the length of days. Not this one. Me my husband and our 15 years old daughter enjoyed every day ...

We had the Pegasus suite which was large and wonderful. Very out of date however. The hot tub on the back deck was great, bed very comfortable, ship built in 1991 so it's dated. The food was HORRENDOUS...how you can screw up a buffet is a mystery but it was lacking in not only quality, but variety. The dining rooms were soso, food ok, portions petite. The private restaurants were great however. ...
