Has “Freestyle” cruising led to de-personalization of service on NCL?

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

I learned something valuable on this cruise: how to remove gratuities from your account. We arrived at the port and had an easy check in experience. This was around 11 AM and there were no lines and we walked right onto the ship. They did not take our pictures but instead use the pictures from our passports. This was a first. The first thing we did was check out the Go Carts and Laser Tag ...

We chose this ship because it is brand new and would have all the latest amenities. It exceeded our expectations. The buffet was excellent morning, noon, and night and the meals changed daily. The observation lounge and Walkway on 8 are lovely, very comfortable and had plenty of room. We had the perfect amount of time at sea (3 days) and in port (3 days). The Broadway shows are very good ...

Timing and price both worked for me. I travel solo, so NCL is my go to cruise line because they have some great options for the single traveller. I usually book a studio cabin, but this trip, because of the multiple "at sea" days, I chose a stateroom with a balcony. This was soon upgraded to a mini-suite, unsolicited by me. Beautiful big cabin with a full size shower(sliding glass doors and six ...

We sailed on February 2nd 2019. Our room was lovely. We stayed in a Mini-Suite 10196. It was very nice. Storage was average. Our steward was very good and kept room very neat for us,he did not have much interaction with us as we have had on other cruises. The bed was good. Husband loved it I thought it was a little firm, but this is a personal opinion. Yes there were over 4000 passengers ...

Cruise to no where....

Took NCL Bliss from Miami to British and US Virgin Islands then to Nassau. No where I wanted to really go but heard it was all about the new ship. We found the cabins lovely, especially the comfortable bed and large shower. The ship is designed for Alaska, not a Caribbean cruise. Thr pool area is way too small for the size of the ship and the chairs are uncomfortable and tightly packed. The ...

We arrived a day early to enjoy some of the city of Miami, first time being that far south Florida. Great stay at the Blue Lagoon Hilton and dinner at Hard Rock. Awesome time. Embarkment day very excited because this was my birthday cruise. Arriving at Miami port was very easy from the hotel. I brought family and friends with me, and we made it on the Bliss in record time, 45 minutes, from ...

My fiance has never been on a cruise and I wanted to make it special for him. I have been on two other cruise lines but NCL had to many promotions to pass up. My travel agent told me about the Bliss and it was truly amazing! Sure an awesome staff, great food, great entertainment and what a breathtaking ship! We came home and booked the Encore one day later doe the same week next year. I ...

Another Blissful Cruise

Booked this sailing a full year in advance while sailing on the Escape and got a great deal. We paid $1079 per person base fare for our BA balcony. By the time final payment was due, BAs were selling for $1929 per person! We have sailed twice on the Escape, so it was hard not to draw comparisons between the two ships. Despite being similar ships, it actually turned out to be very disorienting ...

We sailed on the NCL Bliss on Feb 2, 2019, Mini Suite Cabin #15770. Both the wife and I are experienced cruisers, this was my 17th cruise. Embarkation was the best I have ever experienced, very quick, 15 min from arrival at the pier at 11:15 until we were on board. Cabins were ready about 1:30. Our cabin was nice, but not as large as other Mini Suites on NCL or on Princess. A strong word of ...
