2/15/19 - 3/1/19 NCL Star Panama Canal Voyage
Top screw ups
1. Free internet, ha ha, ha, 250 minute perk what doesn’t work properly or frequently; isn’t free or useful. Waits at Internet cafe could be as much as 60 minutes.
2. Cable/internet stations FOX, MSNBC, BBC, were very frequently not available as is the case right now as I write this, Thursday, 2/28/19 beginning at 6:40 AM and ...
We wanted to go to the Panama Canal and the time of year worked best for both my husband and I. We also thought we'd try a different cruise line (we were very sorry we did).
We were on a 14-day NCL Star cruise through the Panama Canal, starting in Miami and ending in Los Angeles. The cruise itself was very good. Enjoyed the canal and the scenery. The ship was good, the room was great, and ...
Easy embarkation would have been flawless if the terminal staff was educated on latitudes.Room availability and luggage delivery was startling quick.
Excellent food options with the exception of La Cucina. That was terrible. The menu options were bizarre and the flavor was exceptionally bland.
Le Bistro and Cagney’s were fantastic, as usual. They were clear that the charge would be made for ...
My husband and I decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and go on a cruise. It was our first. We flew from NC into Miami on the day of embarking, which went smooth but we cut it pretty close. Next time we will fly down the day before. We arranged for transportation thru Norwegian and it took us from the airport right to the door of the ship. We showed our birth certificate and ID and we ...
My family and I took a long weekend Bahamas cruise and booked it about three weeks in advance. Aspects of the cruise were great while others were not.
Starting with the great aspects, embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The cruise director and staff that led trivia and game show type activities were exceptional. The comedian and magician were outstanding. Great Stirrup Cay ...
We were looking for an NCL cruise during a very specific time frame. This cruise was the only one that fit our schedule. This was our fifth cruise with NCL. We have sailed on the Jade for several cruises and liked it much better than the Sky. Entertainment areas on the Sky have inconvenient seating especially the theater. Our meal at Cagney's was an excellent experience but our evening in ...
I've sailed on Royal Carribean, Celebrity, and Carnival. The experience here was really below any of the others. Our cabin had multiple maintenance issues, we had issues booking shore excursions, the customer service staff always seems to begin any interaction with the position that the customer was wrong, the onboard internet system was buggy and resulted in extra charges, and their app had a ...
We absolutely loved our trip. Our cabin was small but the balcony made it feel more spacious. The itenerary was great, key west was our favorite. Their private island was beautiful, much better than Royal Caribbean’s next door which we visited a couple years back. Keep walking when you get on the island to get to a more secluded spot, it was by the cabanas and was perfect. Not a ton of people ...
The buffet was mediocre. Food never tasted all that fresh the few times I tried it and it was quite crowded with too many people, not enough seating. The main dining hall was good in comparison. Still an occasionally overcooked item, but leaps and bounds above the buffet. There was not a single formal night on the cruise and nothing even close. Every night would be a shorts and a polo type of ...
Fun time on the NCL Jade. Embarking and Disembarking is a dream at the Miami Terminal. 15 minutes from arriving to eating in the buffet! Not overcrowded like other larger ships, not a lot of smaller children - mostly mid-aged adults. Entertainment was solid, singers/dancers and pool side band were awesome. Two pools and 4 hot tubs mid ship, chairs are hard to get but lots of space to sit on ...
