Vegans Beware: Norwegian Joy Turns Hospitality into Hostility

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

We sailed with the Norwegian Joy over Christmas week 2019. When we made reservation about 8 months in advance, we asked about vegan food and were told it was no problem. That was a total sales pitch with no truth behind it. Two of us have been vegan for more than 6 years and are used to navigating non-vegan environments, but this was over the top unpleasant and difficult. Other members of our ...

Norwegian Joy Mexican Vacation The good ,the bad , and the ugly.

The good: It was a wonderful and festive cruise. We had never been on a Christmas cruise. The ship was decorated to the max. The crew was feeling the atmosphere and it showed in their interaction with the guests. The shows were outstanding. Footloose, Elements, and the Beatles show on the last night should not be missed. We were also treated to a special presentation on Christmas ...

NCL has fallen....

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Where is the Norwegian I used to love? As a long time NCL customer I had a number of issues with this ship and changes NCL has made. We were given a 50 pictures for 500 dollars deal which is way more expensive than in the past but we also knew we were getting a 30% discount so we thought 350 is not too bad. So after spending 2 hours to pick out the 50 we liked best they told us we could not use ...

Not a fun time and the food and ship were very subpar!!!

The cruise was very poor, the ship seems old and there is only 1 pool and it was the size of a deck of cards. All that room on the deck and 1 adult pool and one child's pool and both are very small. The entertainment was subpar and the food was void of taste and or had subpar ingredients (had 2 good meals the whole cruise). The rooms are very small and you have way too many people on the ship as ...

We have sailed with Norweigan Cruise lines many times in the past, but this will probably be the last time. I almost considered cancelling this cruise after i read the reviews for this ship. Unfortunately most of the negative comments turned out to be true. The embarkation was the worst i have ever experienced. They requested that all the passangers be aboard the ship by 1:00 PM as they ...

Mexican Riviera - Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta

We chose this cruise because the whole family (4 kids, 1 grandkid, mother in law) were all able to have the time off and the price was pretty good. The free at sea offers seemed like a good idea at first, but it turned out we would have saved more by not using the offer and just adding what we wanted. We ended up not using the internet at all as you can only have one person on it at a time and you ...

What A JOY It Was (Detailed Review)

My family of four just returned from our seven nights on the Joy, and we couldn't be more thrilled about our vacation! This was our first time cruising with Norwegian but our eighth cruise overall. We have previously sailed with Royal Caribbean and Carnival, and after reading about how much Norwegian has improved over the years, we couldn't wait to give them a try. Think NCL is the red-headed ...

NCL just another cruise line

I will start by saying we are Platnium Plus cruisers with a decade long history with NCL 40+ cruises. We were using a Cruise certificate from Caesars Ent. to book the cruise and we were told we had a choice of 2 perks. We opted for Gratuities and WIFI. So we arrive on the ship and I try to log in and can't. I did notice on the TV my name is misspelled so I figured if they had it wrong there maybe ...

Good Variety - Poor Service

The options were endless... perhaps too many options because the staff always seemed rushed unable to provide personalization or personality. FOOD: The food itself was good, excellent steaks! POOLS & HOT TUBS: If you want pools & hot tubs.... this is NOT the ship for you. Only 2 VERY small pools one for adults and one for kids. Kids area hot tubs only 6 at a time, and the water is not ...

My First and Last Cruise

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

My parents came up with the idea of us spending the holidays together on this cruise. I had never been on one and had reservations about ever trying but I went with an open mind. I have to say all my assumptions and the stereotypes about cruises were justified and it was own worse than I expected. The main issue with this ship is that there's just too many people on it. Almost 5,000! So the ...
