Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

We were very pleased with the ship overall and the staff. They were helpful and service was good. We especially enjoyed the specialty French restaurant. On the third night, my 2 year old grandson had a seizure due to a fever from a possible lung infection at about 4am. We were extremely satisfied with the medical attention that he received from the doctor and staff onboard. They arranged for ...

It was good but some things were lacking

This was our first time ever on a cruise. We got a great deal, so we ended up booking the family suite. It happened to come with a concierge and butler. We thought that was pretty cool, except the concierge was completely useless. He booked 3 reservations for us and made huge mistakes on all of them. The butler was pretty great, he came when we called him, but otherwise he never called or popped ...

The guest services were beyond compare

The guest services were flawless. The meals at the complimentary and pay for restaurants were excellent. The buffets were great, just like eating at home only better. The excursions were exciting and on time. Our cabin steward, Resley went out of his way, I think, to make sure our room was always flawless when we returned, and he was a pretty interesting person to chat with as well. ...

Relaxed Vibe on a Fun Little Ship

This was my third sailing with Norwegian after cruising on the Escape and Getaway. I was a little worried that the ship would be too small and that there wouldn't be enough activities on board for our two teenagers. The teens had an amazing time at the Entourage Club and made a large group of friends that they hung out with the whole cruise. I found the Star to be a wonderful ship for many ...

We Enjoyed Ourselves on NCL Star, Some Minor Issues

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

Decided to take the family on a cruise during spring break, which was a little earlier than most, so we were able to get closer to off-season pricing. What was really exciting is that they had great deals when we booked on guaranteed oceanview rooms, which we've never tried. That was a real plus (ended up with picture windows), were able to see lots of good scenery, my daughter saw a group of ...

We booked this itinerary as it lined up with a conference we were attending in California. It is one of the smaller ships we have sailed on. Embarkation was fast and efficient. The staff was amazing. Somehow we were bumped up to concierge level. Suzana was wonderful, reminds one of your favorite aunt, Food Service The food was excellent. We did Cagneys and La Bistro. Both were ...

The Crew Made All the Difference!

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

The Star may not be the biggest, newest or glitziest of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, but it is the Little Ship That Could! We found the crew to be positive, engaging, friendly, and accommodating from top to bottom. We attended the Meet and Greet given by the officers and heard from all of the major departments on board, all were very keen that we bring any concerns to them. I complimented ...

Overall, the ship is great. It's nicely furnished, the food is great, the entertainment was the best I've ever experienced, and the exercise room was excellent (unlike the Sapphire Princess that we were just on in January). The comedian was hilarious and the stage productions were extremely well done. Even the daily musicians were good. That's why the ship gets my high rating BUT ... 1) If ...

Fun family cruise for spring break

We traveled with our 3 children for spring break on this ship. The ship was clean and comfortable. The food, drinks and service were average. The staff varied from attentive to average. We ate at 3 specialty restaurants, Cagney's (3.5-4*), Le Bistro (3*) and Moderno Churrascaria (3*). If we went on this cruise again the only one of the 3 that I would consider paying extra to dine at again may be ...

My husband and I took this cruise to the Mexican Rivera on March 9th. Embarkation was a breeze. We had a balcony cabin midship on 9. It was spacious and had enough storage for all our gear. Our steward was excellent as well. We made reservations for all the restaurants before we left home. I highly recommend this because it is very difficult to get reservations, especially at the specialty ...
