To celebrate the holidays, we wanted to visit Hawai'i ! We chose that cruise because of the itinerary. As cruisers, it was our first time with NCL. It's the only ship who goes to the hawaiian islands we wanted to visit. So, this review is based only on our experience of the ship "Pride of America" (!).
Professionnals, in our mid-forthies, we did many cruises in the last five years, mostly with ...
We were told by experienced cruisers that the itinerary was great but the ship was not, they were right.
The 3 first nights, we couldn't sleep. The ship had obviously engine problems and our cabin was right on top of it. Loud noise, big vibration, mechanical sounds, etc. You get the picture.
We asked for a change of room, but we were told the ship was full. On the fourth day, by a miracle ...
Spent our first night at the Hilton Garden Inn at Waikiki Beach. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach to take in a true Hawaiian sunset. The next day we boarded the ship and headed straight to the Aloha buffet to feast on all the wonderful food. The milk shakes at the Cadillac diner was great and dinning in the Liberty dining room was a nice experience for the kids and grandkids. Our daughter was ...
This was our 3rd cruise on Norwegian and will be our last. Being a Christmas cruise we paid premium price and received the worse experience. The ship had a technical malfunction of their evaporation system from day one, but didn't inform the passengers until the next to last day. That's when they informed us that a change to the itinerary had to be made. We could have told them there was a ...
We had never been to Hawaii and thought this would be our chance to see the islands. The ship was very nice. The cabin was ok except for the bathroom. Toilet worked very intermittently and shower finally got fixed on FOURTH day of cruise. We were told by multiple people that the plumber kept getting redirected by somebody deciding if a working shower was important enough to get fixed.
The ...
Just came back from a 7 day Hawaiian cruise with the Pride of America, here are my comments....
- Embarkation, I tried to check in around 12:30; yet, the staff insisted on carrying my luggage to my room while I refused. They insisted and I let them at the end. But as I walked up to my cabin, it wasn't ready yet. The staff could have mentioned it as the reason, perhaps?
- Dinning room - I ...
We chose this ship and date because we had several friends who were also cruising at this time, and we have never been to Hawaii during the winter. This was our fourth trip to Hawaii, but the first time cruising. I really liked the ship because we found it very personable. We had a problem with the toilet backing up, however the staff was very attentive to the situation and eventually resolved ...
I’m sure this review will never make it to the NCL website, but here goes. You have many options for your visit to Hawaii, don’t chose this one. The ship and staterooms are small, even by normal cruise ship standards. I don’t feel like the maintenance is up to standard because on two separate occasions we were unable to use our bathroom for as long as 8 hours. On the first night of the cruise we ...
This was our first cruise and first visit to Hawaii, chosen to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It met our expectations and more! My husband had long resisted going on a cruise due to his food allergy. However, he had no problems whatsoever due to daily contact with the wonderful NCL dietary consultant on board. She reviewed menus with him for all meals and made sure his choices were prepared ...
This is my second time on this cruise and first time for the family members who joined me. Overall, we had a very memorable cruise that will be reminisced for years. Our cabins were roomy and clean and our cabin attendant was very attentive. We splurged on a balcony and it was well worth the extra money in views!
We enjoyed the Aloha Cafe for breakfast on the aft deck as well as the other ...
