We wanted to see all the islands and Pearl Harbor. We did the 7 day cruise and 3 day at Marriott Resort and Spa. We saw so much of the island and Pearl Harbor. The day we were going to get on the ship was the day everyone’s phone went off with the alarm the Hawaii had a ballistic missile threat warning. This is not a drill. Which turned out to be a false alarm. Our tour guide was great with ...
I have cruised with multiple cruise lines in the past and have never had such a negative experience. The ship looks extremely old so keep your expectations low or you will be highly disappointed! I would give most of the categories a much lower rating if I could!
The embarkation is tedious! Have a very cold bottle of water and prepare to sweat away while you wait to enter the vintage ship! ...
This was my third cruise, previous was 18 years ago. It was my wife’s first cruise, so splurged to get the suite category in the hopes of making a great impression. The trip cost us just shy of $1k per night after including all the onboard expenses, so yes we were expecting to be pampered. A lot of the issues we had were out of control of NCL, but this is to rate the entire cruise, not just what ...
50th Wedding Anniversary, wanted to celebrate in a special way. The cruise was our first half (seven day Hawaiian Islands) followed by 5 nights in Maui. The cruise was recommended by a friend/colleague and we were not disappointed. So glad we structured it this way. The Cruise Team could not have been more accommodating from the time we arrived at check-in until we departed seven days later. ...
We four women went on this cruise "because we could". No occasion, just hadn't been to Hawaii. Our inner cabin had adequate space including the bathroom. We did not plan to nor did we spend much time there beyond sleeping. We explored each island in one way or another. The two craft classes I attended were fun and interesting. The luau was definitely the highlight entertainment for me. ...
We chose this cruise because we had never been to Hawaii before and thought it would be a great way to see several islands. I'm glad we did and if we go back, we would go to the islands we liked best which happen to be Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. We had a balcony room on the 11th floor, which we found to be a great location. It was close to the pool, stairs and elevators, and the buffet. The ...
Just completed a 7-day cruise in Hawaii on the Pride of America. Fantastic from start to finish! Kudos to the Hotel Director, Kaj Turunen, for managing this ship with "mains de maître". The food was exquisite in all restaurants, including the Aloha Café. The specialty restaurants were all exceptional. The staff were outstanding: welcoming, attentive to detail, professional... what a memorable ...
Summary
This was a fun way to get a quick visit to each of the major islands, while having a constant home base. Food was good but not amazing. Staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Cabin was as expected.
Pre-Cruise
We booked through Norwegian Directly, and they were very good about emailing with updates and things. One thing I didn't love was that I wasn't able to get an idea ...
This was my second cruise (1 before kids)and was sceptical about going on the POA as I heard a lot of bad reviews .
So I thought I would not listen to any of them and just book my family on to their first cruise
Well we had a ball the staff couldn’t do enough.
Yes I paid extra and got a Penthouse suite as my husband would not go on a ship unless it had a balcony lol
It was worth every ...
To celebrate the holidays, we wanted to visit Hawai'i ! We chose that cruise because of the itinerary. As cruisers, it was our first time with NCL. It's the only ship who goes to the hawaiian islands we wanted to visit. So, this review is based only on our experience of the ship "Pride of America" (!).
Professionnals, in our mid-forthies, we did many cruises in the last five years, mostly with ...
