Great Itinerary, Awful Ship!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

After sailing NCL before we went with very low expectations of the ship and are glad we did..........The Pride is old and worn out, I don't honestly know what kind of a refurbishment they could do to make her a spectacular ship. Embarkation went smoothly but things went downhill from there, went to the main dining room for lunch which was mediocre at best. When the announcement was made that the ...

We wanted to see all the islands on our Hawaiian trip. The cruise was fine. The food were good and plentiful in the buffet areas. As 1st timers not a lot of things were explained to us. We had to go and check to see where the different things were. Some of the different areas were not clearly marked, took us 3 days to find some of the dining areas. They said that there were 3 pools on board, we ...

We have always wanted to see Hawaii and Pride of America was a great way to travel to the 4 main islands without having to pack up and fly to the next island. We booked a package with ICruise and it included 2 night stay at Waikiki Resort Hotel as well as a Pearl Harbor tour and transfers to the ship. Price was excellent, much cheaper then booking directly. we had no issues at all with this ...

only one to circle Hawaii to save a lot off 'at sea' days. really opposed to that 'extra line for 'extra tip' . REALLY .. an automatic 20% to go to the bar and bring you a drink seems sufficient.. then the nerve to request more ?? you could schedule the evening entertainment a little better.. to dine at around 6 PM and try to get 2 major shows on was really difficult. seating in the Mardi ...

I chose to take a Cruise to Hawaii with my sister, Jackie as neither one have ever gone on a vacation like this. Both of us have traveled and being many places. have seen the world through my 22 years of the military, but this Cruise was the best thing and we had the best time of our life, fun Cruise activities, going to different Islands seeing the beauty of Hawaii. The Buffet style at Aloha so ...

My wife and I chose this cruise because we wanted to see and experience all of the Hawaiian Islands. Everyday there was a new beautiful sight to see. This cruise was great and a true adventure... We booked shore excursions for everyday and once back on the ship we had top notch amenities... Our Cabin had a large King size bed and was well kept by the cabin staff... We had a balcony that ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate my aunts 80th birthday and it was a mother daughter trip (four of us; my aunt my mom my cousin and myself) and we had a fabulous time. Everything from our amazing butler Jeffrey and our cleaning staff and all the excellent restaurants and service I cant think of one thing negative to say except my trip was not long enough. We went on two helicopters rides in ...

Boarding day was a breeze! Got to the terminal around 11:15a.m. and people were just starting to arrive. Got our Sea Pass and waited only 20 minutes to board. Went right to the Aloha Café for a bite to eat then explored the ship until our cabin was ready. Our cabin was Aft and there was no one stairway/elevator to get there. You had to start Forward then walk to midship, go outside then back ...

Overall, the US staff aren't terribly interested in anything beyond themselves. Dont get the soda package... bar staff will ignore you if you have one of those stupid germ cups. Customer svc staff aren't good for much other than general direction to shipboard locations. Entertainment OK w comedian a highlight. The magician was either cheap, new, or someone's cousin. Hawaiian duet in Pink's ...

Frustrated and Feeling Punished

I am TOTALLY FRUSTRATED with NCL at the moment and I would love the opportunity to speak with their CEO or someone from upper management. Pride of America is a relatively small ship compared to the rest of Norwegian’s fleet. The ship is clean and the crew is, for the most part, very friendly. The cost of the cruise, however, was the most expensive I’ve experienced with NCL coming in just shy ...
