Had 4 days in Honolulu before the cruise. We had Leo as our tour guide. He was wonderful, very knowledgeable & funny. The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort Hotel was breathtakingly beautiful. We had the ocean view but limited view as other ... Read more

This was my wife and my opportunity to visit several islands on my 3rd and my wife's 2nd visit to Hawaii. We wanted to see several islands and this cruise was the opportunity to do so. Check in to the cruise ship was fairly quick. You ... Read more

We recently sailed on the POA on the March 25th to April 1st cruise in the 2 bedroom large family suite 10678 (on the aft port side). Like any ship, the cabins are not huge, but we had four adults (two in the master bedroom, one in the ... Read more

The itinerary is perfect. Great way to see the islands. This is our second cruise on NCL's PoA around Hawaii. We did this trip 10 years ago. The 2 biggest changes we noticed were a plus and a minus. The food was much improved ... Read more

Everything was better than expected. The ship is lovely and well maintained. Cabins are small, but have lots of storage - we had empty drawers! The food was better than expected, though if not in a hurry I'd skip the Aloha Cafe as it is ... Read more

Selected the cruise for spring break. We realized that the ship was nothing more than a floating hotel as there are no days at seas. The islands were great and the ship was so-so. The ship has ~2000 passengers but seems small. ... Read more

We didn't want to take a 2 week cruise leaving California, so this was the only option. We are a couple in our late 60s.Our package included 2 nights at Hilton Beachcomber Hotel. We were in cabin 9606. It's not a particularly big cabin ... Read more

We chose this cruise because we couldn't decide which island to visit, and didn't want to include the ocean crossing in our holiday--so that meant travelling on NCL Pride of America!! Having been spoiled with HALs food a couple of years ... Read more

POA looks like an NCL ship but it didn’t feel like any other cruise. It really is transportation to the islands & not much more. You have no time to enjoy the ship herself. You go, go, go, nonstop, We ate breakfast on the ... Read more

I booked my own excursions, independent of NCL. Was very happy with my choices. We took this cruise as it was the only one that did island cruise. Since it was, they could overcharge for everything. Inflated prices for such things ... Read more

If one wants to see several islands without having to pack up and move this is the way. Hawaii is beautiful, day and night. Cruising made getting around easy. The cruise itself was ok. Did NCL 3 day tour of Oahu before cruise. It was ... Read more

We chose Pride of America as it seemed to be the best and easiest way to see Hawaii and the islands. Getting on the ship was very easy and we were on just after 12.15 (lunchtime). However, we heard (after a few hours wait) they were doing ... Read more

We took the NCL Jewel in '15 to Alaska. The food was great, the staff was great, the excursions were great. The POA is not the same. The food is okay....not great, but not horrible. You need to season everything. We booked 3 shore ... Read more

A bit of background, we've been cruising for a number of years with our kids and have used several different companies. Last year we cruised for the first time with Norwegian and vowed to never cruise with them again for a host of reasons ... Read more

We just did the pride of America. We were thankful to rent cars on each island -- the excursions through the ship are very expensive. For example, in Hilo, we rented a car for $75 and we drove to the volcanoe park -- it's very easy to ... Read more

We chose this cruise as a way to see 4 different islands to determine where we might like to come back to in the future. Our only point of reference is a Princess Cruise to Alaska on the Island Princess (IP) that we did last August. ... Read more

I chose this cruise solely for the itinerary. That said, I did read lots of reviews prior and I assumed the negative ones were by fussy people. I guess I must be a fussy person too then, because I found many of the comments made to be ... Read more
