Was nervous when reading some of the reviews when the Getaway arrived in New Orleans a couple months ago. If you are organized and do your research before boarding, you will have a wonderful vacation. I have taken many New Years cruises, I also have taken four New Year cruises with Norwegian, but I have to say this one was the worst.
Embarkation & Disembarkation was one think they did right,
The cabin was nice, but the cabin steward only clean the room. Any message I had to go to guest service and they told me the steward was to deliver it. As far as TOWEL ANIMALS there was NONE.

Our family group of 8 persons (ages 18-82) wanted to celebrate New Years together on a cruise. We have enjoyed NCL together before, but definitely not this time.
This ship was had too many people (5000) which meant you were in line for EVERYTHING! You had to make reservations for the free shows, but still stand in line to get entrance for a good seat. Why make reservations?

We married on a Friday and flew into Puerto Rico the next day around 1730. We took a taxi from the airport to the Sheraton Hotel & Casino. Getting a taxi was extremely easy. The attendant asked how many passengers, how many bags, and where was our destination. The fees were transparent and a copy was given to us. The cab fare was $24 and a $6 tip, so a total of $30. The ship was nice enough, however, when they had most events the areas became dangerously over crowed and no functional service. All areas were open to kids, including bars and casinos. One night a few large families lock-up the bar with their kids trying to sing Karaoke, then stayed for hours denying the intended gust a spot to set down.

Ship was old but in good condition. Rooms could use some updating.
Cagney's Steakhouse was not a steakhouse steak house steak and sided were bad. Teppanyaki was good and we had a good time.
O'Sheenhan's bar food was average but the drinks and bartenders were good. Venetian and Aqua were average but had no trouble getting seated even with 5 without a reservation.
