We purchased an upgrade to the Haven, NCL's exclusive "ship-within-a-ship" experience. The lack of signage at the not-port-terminal that they used for pre-boarding covid testing had no signage directing people how and where to proceed. The pre-cruise email communications that most folks received regarding the Bermuda Travel Authorities requirements didn't arrive until the day prior to departure. ...
We booked this cruise with open eyes and performed every piece of diligence possible with the information available, but Norwegian managed to 'con' us, and as we learned onboard many other customers.
From the home page online you quickly find the Sail Safe section which clearly states everyone onboard is vaccinated and there are no shore excursion restrictions (correct as of August 2021), but ...
We disembarked 2 weeks ago today on 10.03.21. I wrote another review from our 1st cruise on NCL Gem after we disembarked on 09.05.2021. It was such a wonderful ship and cruise that I have to write another review. We did the Western AGAIN.
We've sailed on NCL Sky, Escape, Epic and 2 times on Gem since our kids bought us our 1st sailing as a Christmas gift on Sky in 2017. I believe we are ...
This cruise was the perfect relief from a year and a half of social isolation. I wanted a safe way to travel and Norweigian provided that peace of mind. All passengers were required to take three different covid tests with a negative result plus provide proof of vaccination. The staff was masked at all times. The precautions at the buffet were excellent. That "washy washy happy happy" line stays ...
We took the same ship and intinerary in fall 2017 and had a bad medical experience (unrelated to anything on the cruise). So this was a redo. Due to pandemic, prices were crazy low so we booked a two bedroom suite in the Haven. I'm sure that colored our experience quite a bit, but still I found things on the Epic better than the previous time.
Start with Covid testing, which was done by the ...
I debated writing this review for sometime for so many reasons. The one thing that can summarize this review is that Norwegian Cruise Line Isn’t ready. They aren’t ready to sail after COVID 19. I just got back yesterday from a 7 night cruise to ports in Belize, Cozumel, Honduras and Costa Maya on the Norwegian Gem. This cruise was by far my worst experience with any cruise line. I love cruising ...
Invited by my father in law we took the trip on the Getaway, this was our 2nd journey on this ship. Round or about for 60% filled is was comfortable with plenty of space. Dining experience in Taste and Savour were like before Covid. The premium restaurants however were not that great as we experienced on the Jade a while ago. But since this was part of our package, no complaints here. We would not ...
We went on the 11 day cruise and picked the Getaway as we have been on the ship before. The ship has everything you need and the food and service is next to none. But there is one reason that I would not sail on the Getaway again. We had two sea days and we were told that the ship was 50% full. I knew that the Vibe section had been expanded but not to the extent that it has been. At around 10.30 ...
We were anticipating a great accommodation on what we were told was a newly remodeled Epic…oh…wait…remodeled does not mean that all passengers will have nice accommodations! The remodeling apparently only meant that the former gathering space on the top deck has been eliminated and is now high priced suites for a select few guests willing to pay for the privilege. The standard cabins are ...
Just disembarked yesterday, so I thought I'd review while it's still fresh in my mind.
Embarkation in Civi was smooth and seamless and well organized, the whole process took less than 1/2 hour.
When we got to our balcony stateroom there was a strong urine smell in the toilet area, not a great first impression. Off I went to guest services, where they apologized and promised to have the ...
