The 7-day cruise on the Norwegian Epic, sailing out of San Juan on January 8th was the WORST cruise I have even been on. I’ve been on several cruises on both larger and smaller ships, and this was clearly the worst. The boat was overcrowded, uncomfortable and UNSAFE. There was no way the overwhelmed staff could handle the crowd if a fire or other emergency broke out. The staff could not even ...
Because the Gem is no longer sailing out of NYC in the winter we had to catch the Getaway for our annual winter vacay. The NCL Getaway is part of the Breakaway class & is a larger ship at 145,655 tons & a guest capacity of 3,963 passengers & 1,646 crew. Because the ship is larger it has more decks devoted to balcony cabins & more dining options than the Gem. It also features a different layout ...
Friends chose the NCL cruise out of NYC and since I had cruised many times with NCL I was happy to join them. Sadly my experience on this cruise was far below my expectations with NCL. This is what I would consider a no frills cruise.
Below is what I experienced on this cruise.
1- Breakfast in the two dining rooms, Savory and Taste were always cold, pancakes, waffles, frenchtoast & coffee. ...
We booked with NCL because we were looking for a family friendly, affordable cruise. We cruised with our just turned 3 year old daughter and were excited that she would be able to take part in the children's programming. We were unfortunately disappointed in the lack of activities she could participate in because she was not completely potty trained, and therefore not allowed to take part in any ...
We slept one day in the cabin then right before we went to bed the second night my boyfriend saw a bug on his pillow. He grabbed it. We put it under a cup and called customer service. They came up to clarify yes, it was a bedbug they check the room, he found five and said I’m not going to keep counting. Clearly, there was a lot of bedbugs. I don’t know why the room wasn’t checked previously but ...
I can only recommend NCL for cruisers who don’t care about itinerary or who get a deal so low that you won’t be disappointed if NCL cancels the most important ports from your cruise. If you care about itinerary, please be aware of the fact that NCL is changing the itineraries on many sailings after final payment. On this sailing, they cancelled the Dominican Republic and cut out the morning of ...
First off, I would like to say that I cruised NCL Escape in April 2022 which left port in FL. On the Escape, I immediately felt welcomed and the customer service was wonderful! I would not pass by other cruiser or staff on the elevators without everyone saying "Good Morning, Good afternoon, or Good evening.". The buffet was open until 11:30pm which was wonderful for our night owl kids. The ...
We chose NCL over some others mainly for the Entertainment. Big mistake! Please do not cruise with NCL. They will treat you with no courtesy. First we departed late from NOLA, which caused us to arrive late at other ports so two of our excursions were canceled. Second our a/c went out in our cabin it took almost two hours for them to respond. The food was bland unless you ate at a specialty ...
A cruise is oftentimes what you make of it. This is my 8th cruise and 5th solo cruise. I will be honest and say this is the worst cruise I’ve ever taken, however it is as still a very good trip, experience and I had a nice time. The value for the money was still wonderful.
Let’s begin.
The ship itself is wonderful, however it needs some care. It’s immaculately clean and sanitized, but has ...
This was a 12 day Caribbean cruise sailing from NYC. We are fairly seasoned cruisers, with this being our 8th or 9th cruise. We have cruised on Princess a bunch and Norwegian once before. This was the worst cruise experience, with the blame split between staffing shortages, an overcrowded ship with obnoxious and loud passengers, a glaring lowering of quality, and poor strategic space decisions on ...
