This was our 8th NCL cruise and we selected this one for the Itinerary!! The Itinerary did not disappoint!
The EPIC however, is not the typical NCL ship, nor the typical experience we have had on 7 other NCL cruises. First off, service on NCL has always been a high point and fortunately that has not changed. However, despite the wonderful smiles and attentive service, you can tell that the ...
Overall had a nice cruise for a spring break week with lots of kids and large groups. Fam of 4. on 2nd NCL (Bliss previously) and 9th cruise overall. Spent night before at Marriott across from port and just walked over. Relaxed in Mall Food Court until check-in time and than took elevator down to street level to drop bags. Through security and in waiting room in about 15 min. Waited about another ...
Friends of ours were already going on this one so we booked it as well. We had great service, no complaints. Walked the stairs a lot because of all the food we ate. There was some issues of the plumbing on some floors but our room was fine. Except one day for an hour there was a really bad sewer smell in the hallway. Also it was Spring Break time so of course more kids were on the cruise but ...
So after I booked this cruise I started reading the terrible reviews! I’m not sure what these people experienced but my husband and I had a great experience on this ship! Service was excellent, our room was perfect. Food was good, everyone working on the ship was pleasant and hardworking! Weather not great leaving NY in March but we expected that! Beautiful when we reached the southern stops! ...
Southern Caribbean we had never done. Fantastic itenerary, Aruba, curaçao, bonaire, st Kitts started in Puerto Rico. The weather was fabulous, our excursions were a lot of fun. Something different ever port we stopped at. I’m not sure why the negative vibe about Epic, the staff were friendly especially when you took the time to chat with them, very cordial. The ladies at the buffet Happy happy ...
This was my 2nd cruise with NCL. My sister and I cruised on the NCL Encore last year and had an amazing experience. This ship, not so good.
Pro's:
Check in and disembarking went very smoothly. The staff that greeted us were very friendly and happy to see us.
Our cabin was ready when we arrived around 2:30. Our balcony was very nice. It had one chair and one lounger with a small ...
Overall, our cruise was great. The food was excellent, shows were great, specialty and complimentary restaurants good, and the crew/staff awesome. There were a few hiccups: Toilet in our balcony spa cabin 14***, initially was not working properly, causing some concern but corrected by the third day. Asst. Genl. Mgr. Sayeed helped to make us comfortable and so did the Bloody Mary's from Asep at ...
The breakaway has such a poorly designed floor plan that I still can’t wrap my head around it. NCL put two of the smallest pools for 4,500+ people. People would be out hogging lounge chairs extremely early and they were all taken by 7 am. They wasted so much space on specialty dining that I never saw anyone in. The biggest waste of space: American Diner. I saw 8 tables being used the entire time I ...
Since I didn't find much information for Gluten free travelers prior to the cruise I thought I would add some here. Arriving at the cabin we found letters addressed to each of us stating that they knew about our dietary restrictions and left a number to call if we needed assistance. Sounds good - but it took several days calling to get through to the number and was told it had been assigned to ...
Good: food variety and quality. Clean and pretty ship. Good port options.
Reality: nickel and dime to death. Intentionally made it hard to keep water it drinks in room, no water fountains and only at a bar or open restaurant . Restaurants overbooked, wasted dining passes. Priority passes are worthless! No room on sun decks at all and no enforcement “no saving chairs or leaving chairs.” They ...
