Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Some friends of ours planned to go on this cruise so we decided to try out Norwegian for the first time. We normally do Royal. Wow I had no idea what a huge step or leap down it would be. I got food poisoning on the 4th day. They didn’t go to one of the stops because it was too dangerous. Even though two other ships were parked there. The lines were insane. What I had to go through to get my son ...

Very Good Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Overall, I found the NCL Breakaway out of New Orleans to be a very good cruise. When you factor in all that came with the Haven I would easily put this cruise above any others we have taken before. Know that all the food we had on the ship was great and probably the best we have had on any cruise we have ever taken. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and do what they can to help ...

Highs and Lows

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

I'll start with the highs: We enjoy the Jewel's size-not too big, not too small. The staff were all great, as usual. We enjoyed the shows. We ate mostly at specialty dining for dinner, and we liked them all, especially Cagney's. In Ensenada, we walked to the fish market and had some great fish tacos. In Cabo, we took a ship's shore excursion to the Casa Dorado Beach Resort and it was great. ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which had pluses and minuses (discussed further below). This was our third trip on the Dawn, and we were disappointed by the appreciable decline in the quality of the service, food and entertainment since our last trip pre-COVID. Fewer things are included- 2 specialty dinners instead of 3 for a 7 day cruise, fewer drinks included in the drink package (especially ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Sun

User Avatar

Sun’s Transatlantic crossing in April 2023 was advertised online so we booked and paying our deposit in our NCL online account. This is where the first problems started, we seemed to be charged additional fee when ever we booked on specialities dinners (part of the original cruise package) or add and pay for shore excisions. At lease three times we had to call the Florida office to get these ...

Not an Epic Experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We chose this cruise because it was going to the ABC islands, which we had never visited. In past years NCL, has been a great cruise line. Fast forward to the Epic 2023. This was an older ship that was definitely full to the gills, because of spring break. We arrived in our balcony stateroom and were immediately not impressed. The room was smaller than normal and had a weird bathroom on one side, ...

Disappointing customer service experience

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We have cruised with several lines before, and we typically take 2-3 cruises each year. This was our first time cruising with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Here are some thoughts from my first (and maybe last) experience with them: PROS: - Embarkation: I still cannot believe how fast this went! We have never gone on the ship so fast. It was our first time at the port of Tampa, and before we ...

Spring Break Cruise - Disorganization.

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

I don't write reviews much, but when I do... LOL I though the ship was beautiful and ALL the food we had (including buffet), was great! Never had a bad meal. Embarkation and disembarkation were complete CHAOS! Extremely disorganized! Crew had no idea what they were doing. After 15 cruises taken in different companies, this was the worst ever. Being Spring Break, the ship was extremely ...

We choose this cruise for the itinerary and because our previous experiences on Norwegian had been good. Previously we had booked balcony cabins but since we brought our kids and grandkids we booked 2 ocean view cabins. I expected a tight cabin but I didn't expect such poor room service. The room was only serviced once a day, usually after lunch. We got fresh towels and the beds were straightened, ...
