The cruise was ok. Getting on and off at ports was fairly easy and quick. There was a lot to choose from once you were off the ship. The excursions offered on board were much more expensive than if you just got off and got one of the ones they were selling at the ports. There were not as many activities as we liked on board and their "main" area was not big at all. There were not many bigger pools ...
First off, the ship was way too crowded. You can't walk out of the stateroom without having to push people away. The main pool was literally more human than the actual water in the pool. The slides and ropes coarse were closed the whole time for some reason, and we were charged random daily fees that we didn't know about ($80 a day). Worst of all, we didn't even go to our last location because of ...
Food was great, staff were nice and friendly. We had a good time. The cruise director & captain were funny and witty. I’m giving them 2 stars because of the “Kids Zone”, our trip was predicated on having our 3-yr old go to splash zone while we attended our specialty dining, gambling and occasional drinks, however the staff and policies at the Kid Zone (splash zone) were horrible! ) they wouldn’t ...
It was a great ship. It took me a day or two to get familiar with the layout, but after that, it was easy to navigate around.
The food was excellent. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, ranging from simple finger food to Asian and East Indian cuisine. The specialty restaurants were amazing and the food was top-notch.
The staff and crew were friendly and super helpful. It's ...
This was my first Cruise and I had a hard time from the very beginning. First I was crossing the street to get into the lobby of Encore Norwegian to catch the ship. I was almost run down by the crossing guard. Second did not know i could leave my luggage at terminal. I struggled to bring them to the 10th floor of my cabin. 3rd I called for room service only to be told to call Housekeeping and when ...
Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 elementary aged children sailed on NCL Viva during spring break on a full ship. Prior to sailing I read mixed reviews about the NCL Viva. Our family found the ship to be modern and beautiful. It took a few days to get acclimated with the layout of the ship. Pools and public areas of the ship typically got crowded close to all aboard time when people returned to ...
Just came back from the 7 day Southern Caribbean on the Viva. Family of five with three teenagers.
Overall, an amazing cruise....one of the best out of many we have taken. We are used to the mega ships of Royal, and I wondered if the Viva would feel too small. I quickly realized it's fine. It really is a beautiful ship. I read many negative reviews here, but once being on the ship, I ...
This was our fifth cruise on Norwegian. As an aside, we have made reservations on other Norwegian cruises before, but we were notified of itinerary changes that made the cruise less desirable to us, before payment was due. Therefore we cancelled those reservations.
This cruise was selected by my wife and I as a repeat of a January 2020 Southern and Eastern Caribbean (just before the Covid ...
As an experienced cruise traveler, I've been on countless voyages over the past two decades, cruising with family early on and then increasingly venturing out solo. Most of my cruises in the 2000s and 2010s were on major lines like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Carnival. In the 2020s, I've sailed with Virgin Voyages, Holland America, Princess, and Celebrity among others. This Norwegian Encore ...
Mid ship / Deck 9 Balcony Room
Pros:
Excellent / Great food (all beef is angus beef) - never over cooked as we experienced both times on Royal Caribbean. By far the best food on any cruise line we've experienced.
Excellent customer service
No seasickness due to captain/pilot's experience on large swells on last day of cruise
No lines for Starbucks
Cons:
*No place to get away ...
