Passenger to Crew ratio was less than desirable

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise for the uniqueness of it's itinerary and length of cruise. Unfortunately Copenhagen, Denmark was the crew change-over (maybe Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and we had 3800 plus passengers and 1300 crew. Service was typically slow in all dining rooms, food was bland, tough, or not cooked correctly in many instances. Since we skipped Portugal it seems we ran out of many food ...

Reposition back to home state. Price was reasonable. Had mini suite, size good, bathroom wonderful, high marks on this. Food in specialty restaurant was very good, main din8ng room food average, nothing’s special. Buffet had wide assortment, breakfast really good, as well as some lunch entrees. Activities were always offered but spaces to participate or view was limited for size of ship and ...

19 day re-positioning cruise Copenhagen to New Orleans. Staff, cabin stewards, bar staff all excellent and helpful. Management was terrible from top to bottom. Free Style was a joke as there were lines everywhere and you had to make reservations. Every docking ended with long lines. Unecessary stop in Miami was short and entailed a 4 hour wait in the terminal. Every question to Guest Services ...

My husband and I got married in the courthouse swearing we would have a wedding eventually! Wellllll 3 years later we decided to use the money we were saving to go on a trip! We chose this journey across the atlantic and we are so happy we did we absolutely loved it! the only small negative is that the water was too rough to pull into ponta del gata so we were at sea for like 7 days straight. Not ...

First time Haven cruise

I chose this cruise for the transatlantic itinerary. We did our first TA last year on a different line and loved it. We tried to book it a year out onboard a different NCL ship but it was sold out. Kept looking online and eventually snagged a guarantee minisuite. After final payment and closer to sailing, the prices dropped and we upgraded ourselves to a Haven spa minisuite. We couldn’t be happier ...

It was only an okay cruise

I did a back to back and cruised the Baltic capitals and continued with the transatlantic. The cabins are exceedingly small, the food was only OK, and unless you had hours to spend in the restaurant a lot of the meals were eaten at the buffet. The specialty restaurants were a joke. All they were were overpriced OK restaurants. I will say though, the activity hosts were awesome and they made the ...

Overall a great experience

We chose this cruise because it ended in New Orleans, right across the lake from our home town of Slidell. We have never been to Europe and thought it would be a good opportunity to see our roots, and loved the idea of a transatlantic crossing. We flew on our own to Copenhagen two days early, and thank goodness we did because our flights got delayed due to weather and took many more hours ...

No management

As a recommendation from close friends we were convinced that this would be the prefect way to get "out feet wet" with cruising. Our friends had been on many cruises before this and certainly knew the ropes. What we found was endless lines of people for every event ranging from mandatory passport inspections, to dining (even with reservations), to entertainment, to going to our planned ...

Never again - following the Danforth family review

First, read the Danforth family review. No need for me to repeat everything there. It is ALL correct - even a bit mild. Overall, organization was lacking. Processes were disorganized; we heard the word "cluster" quite a few times. The biggest surprise (of many) was the churlish attitude of most of the staff. Few smiles, uncaring (even after pouring coffee on my wife's lap!), angry that ...

Cruise ship terrible and slow service

Itinerary. Ship is too small inside to accommodate over 3500 guests. Service sucked. Food was mediocre. Wont go on Norwegian again ever. No world series showed which was not a good idea. Cruise director sucked. Halloween costumes party should of been in Theater. Bad organization with everything. Venues not enough space to accommodate guests. Lines too long. Dining room service 2 hours to ...
