Ship was beautiful but there were issues

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

We traveled as an extended family -- a group of 15 of us from Michigan and Ohio. We embarked in Miami and had a smooth experience. However, they had (and still have) my husband as a first time Norwegian traveler when he is not -- we were all on Norwegian in 2017. I asked my group travel agent to correct this, but as far as I know it still has not been fixed. Oh well...on to the cruise. We had ...

There were 8 of us celebrating the life of my mother in law. She loved to cruise! We all had a great time and lots of fun! Good entertainment, fabulous food and much to do. Not much for children to do on this cruise. Speciality restaurants, Teppanyaki and Cagneys were exceptional! I wasn’t pleased with Moderno because of very slow service and they just couldn’t get it together. There is ...

Bliss- Too big of a ship

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

So I was told after the fact that this was the first re positioning cruise for this ship. I think the ship is to big for me. There was not enough seats in the atrium. Guests were pushing people to get to seats. Elevators were always crowded. Someone made a suggestion to put escalators in to relieve the overcrowded elevators. Our last day on board was very cold so everyone was inside. This ...

Deplorable On-Board Service

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

We booked the Bliss for our annual family Thanksgiving cruise, but were greatly dissatisfied by the on-board service level, particularly the food service. This was by far the poorest service we have received on any cruise line/ship. And since food is a big part of a cruise, when that is poor, it pulls down the whole experience. Cabin: 8126 and neighboring cabins have very large balconies, ...

I have been on 5 cruises, on different ships. First time on Norwegian. If what had happened to my family did not happen, the cruise would have been below par anyway. The ship was average, Activities were good, Service was poor except for our steward. He was great. Dining was average to poor. Dinner was sent back several times at the specialty/upscale restaurants, 1 of 3 restaurants tried was good, ...

Terrible Drink Service, Gut Rot Food, and Everything is Extra $$

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

You only get service if you're eating (not in the buffet). There's usually only a couple bartenders. You might see a drink server, but they're waiting on the bartender too. The bar was closed during the comedy show and no server. I've never found it so hard to find an open bar. They seem to close early too. It was almost like it was a burden to ask for something. There's all these ...

Worst cruise experience ever!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Started our week long cruise by standing in line, on the street, next to operating trolley cars, for 3 hours!!! Nowhere to sit, no explanation by NCL staff. Hundreds and hundreds of people. We were slotted to board at 12:30. After 3pm by the time we boarded. No apologies. Food was terrible. No exaggerating. Terrible. Paid extra for specialty dining. Also terrible with the exception of Cagneys. ...

Pretty New ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Encore

I wanted to travel on the newest ship. This cruise only had three ports and unfortunately, one port was only for the evening as the ship didn't arrive until 5pm and the only excursions were alcohol related which didn't allow for fun for children. The cabin was wonderful with a fabulous location. The casino, smoking section was very confining and the machines were so loud as they are so close ...

Worst Cruise Ever

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

User Avatar

The boat itself was beautiful and well kept. However, the service is one of the worst. The staff all seemed new and unfamiliar with the boat. They were not very attentive. The bartenders took forever to get drinks or even placing an order. The food servers were very cold and short. I couldn't book the activities I wanted due to lack of enough showings. The worst was a "surprise" tender. In the ...

Nickel and Dime - Gluten Free Options Not Fine

I felt as though NCL NICKELED and DIMED their patrons. Everything has a price. You have to make Reservations for almost everything - shows - comedy shows-activities by the time u try and make Reservations Everything is booked. Food in the Manhattan dining room was ok - at least u could choose more than 1 appetizer and entree. If you wanted lobster or any type of seafood, you had to purchase the ...
