This was our very first time with NCL. The ship is beautiful and big. Getting on and off the ship was a nightmare. No one on board knew where the line started. People were frustrated and it became a mad house. Besides the buffet we ate at O'sheehans and the food was awesome. The staff was great and your food came out fast. The buffet was average and breakfast was a mad house as well. I would ...
I love Norwegian for the solo rates - no single supplement on many of their cruises, and a dedicated cruise director staff member to the solo group. I usually have a great time with new friends and love the price!
This was a last minute great deal so I grabbed it. What I expected was something similar to past cruises with NCL (7) such as Epic (very few ocean views unless your room has ...
What a great ship to cruise on, I believe the best and most friendliest staff are on this ship. There is always some kind of entertainment activity going on so if your are board it's because you did not consult your daily activities schedule. The ship is always being cleaned and when you disembark at a port the outside of the ship looks like new. They really work hard to earn your business. So ...
The offer of canceling your cruise within 48 hours and you will get your money back is not true, they will give you a cruise credit for a future cruise.
Also do not get sick whilst onboard my wife starting choking and coughing whilst dining at the Teppanyaki restaurant the manager called the medical center and they took her to the the medical center when the doctor put a tongue depressor on her ...
The Panama canal has been a bucket list trip for me for years and this one was priced right so I took it. Overall I had a great time. Going through the Panama canal was very well done with Panamanian official on board giving timely reports over the intercom as to what we were seeing.
Just keep in mind that the Star is an older ship and will not compare to the newer ones in the fleet. If you ...
Loved the intiniary going to columbia, peru and Chile .
My husband had hurt his ankle and needed a wheelchair at embarking we waited 6 hours with other handicap and no wheel chairs came. One 95 year old was carried on by a family member.
Food in dinning room was cold, many tasteless and service was to long. We missed four 7:30 shows even though we got to dinning room at 5.
We asked for ...
The cruise was great although the ports left a lot to be desired. I don’t understand why ncl would pick ports such as these. I loved the ship, but the ports were run down and not near anything. I took a bus into one of the towns, as soon as I got off the bus I was told by 3 local policemen it was not safe to walk around the area alone. So why would the ship bring us to such a dangerous place ?? ...
My perspective: Single young male no kids, looking for good blackjack, dancing, maybe younger singles groups to meet people my age. Not too picky on room nor food. Novice cruiser. A bit nerdy. I do not smoke nor drink. Overall 3.6 out of 5, rounded to 4/5.
1. Service.
+Excellent staff (++). 2nd Engineer (Propulsion?) took time to tell me about ship as I am a nerd (+). Solo Traveller Leader ...
-Confusing ship with not all elevators to all decks.
-Salad area of buffet limited selection.
-Changed ports a few weeks prior to departure but not all guests notified.
-Entertainment and music were good.
-Internet cafe wide open on a balcony over a noisy area. Last evening tried to checkin for flight home but could not get online. No one available to help.
-embarkation was ...
Seems like Embarkation was our initial warning. We literally stood in line for registration in the Miami Cruise Terminal for over 2 hours. The lack of concern for the passengers became the theme of our cruise. Our first two ports, which were in Columbia, were canceled before the ship even sailed. How many passengers had booked this cruise for the Colombian ports? Based on the grumbling we ...
