Our multi-generational family of 12 ranging in ages 5-95 took our 2nd family cruise over Christmas on the Encore. Our first was 2 years ago on the RCL Oasis of the Seas. Overall we all enjoyed the cruise, but I felt it was a bit harder to enjoy this cruise as a larger family group versus individual family units. Other than that, the ship was beautiful and new with lots of Christmas decorations. ...
We were excited to go on our family vacation on the Encore because of all the “cool” things they offered, the experience was not at all what I’m used to when it comes to cruising. The regular food was good and cannot complain. They had a great variety and all made very well. There were some employees that were very niceand helpful. My child is celiac and they tried their best to help though they ...
My son that we went with picked this cruise...said Norwegian was one of the top 10, but I totally disagree.
Food--Atrocious...I cook better than we ate and that's not saying much, because I hate to cook. Was very disappointed there was never any shrimp on the ship, nor lobster. It was offered on every other cruise I had been on
Entertainment---disgusting, even though the actual ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, as we had never been to Honduras or Belize. Overall, a positive experience. The positives: entertainment, embarkation, luggage delivered in a timely manner, room steward was good, stateroom room was better than expected, disembarkation efficient. The negatives: balcony extremely small, service was fair, and in a couple of instances it was poor, and ...
The Christmas decorations on the Dawn were mediocre to say the least. Cardboard cutouts of candy canes and paper snow flakes in the theatre were tacky. The Christmas caroling was cut short with only one verse of songs sung. This should have been a magical moment and yet it was way too short. They should have even had it more than once. The Bliss lounge's dance floor is too small and the DJ plays ...
The team members on this ship were awesome. Everyone greeted us with a smile. Once onboard the ship, it was awesome. The cabins were as expected, the entertainment was generally good (except the awful magician, more later) and the food was good.
The embarkation and check in were HORRIBLE. When pre-checking in, they asked what time we wanted to show up for check in. We chose between 1 and ...
A very good cruise with a very good itinerary
The embarkment at Tampa was slow, and it was confusing which port to go to (port 2 is supposed to be Carnivial only but we left out of there).
It was a Holiday Cruise. Christmas decorations were fun, christmas show was adorable. But being Jewish, I was impressed with Hannukah.
I expected the menorah in the atrium, and even the nightly ...
This was our first ever Christmas Cruise, and a return to NCL after 22 years sailing Disney and Holland America. Departure and return port was San Juan. We had a great vacation, but would not sail this ship again and this experience makes us question booking NCL. It was also our first megaship, and we will most likely go back to mid-size in the future. The dates and origin port made this a very ...
We took our first cruise in June - an aft facing Haven suite on the Norwegian Joy from Seattle to Alaska. We enjoyed that cruise so much that we decided to spend our holiday break cruising the Caribbean in an aft facing Haven suite on the Norwegian Epic.
Never again.
For the most part, the restaurants are the same on both ships and even the menus are the same. The resemblance stops there. ...
We excitedly chose this ship for an 11 person family Christmas cruise, with ages ranging from 81 to 17. Forget this ship if you are handicapped or in a wheelchair. Hallways are really small and loaded with the carts used for cleaning. It was like an obstacle course getting my Mom to her cabin. She also could not use the pool because there were only ladders to get in, no stairs. They charge $200 ...
