This was our second cruise on the Norwegian Escape and we have previously cruised on Princess and Celebrity. Based on 3 cruises in total we are pretty sold on NCL. However, it isn't for everyone.
Embarkation: We had the air option, so took the transfer to the terminal offered by NCL. When we arrived at the terminal, it was clear that there were A LOT of people who showed up either early, or ...
My family and I just returned from our cruise on the 'Escape'. Unfortunately, for Norwegian, we have cruised before and had a great ship(MSC Seaside) to compare this voyage to. I would, however, like to give the crew a big hand as they all worked hard to make this a memorable experience. Special mention to Alma Clarito, Aliea Puey, and Emelia Baldovino for making our trip so special. Also, thanks ...
We chose this cruise based on reviews, destination, ports of call, and price. It was a birthday trip for my husband and our first time cruising. We ruled out Carnival because of the party type atmosphere. Royal was not loved by friends, and while Disney is well...Disney, we wanted a relaxing week on our cruise.
Let's start with the pros...because I will give credit where credit is due. First ...
This was my first cruise, so I didn’t know what to expect.
Embarkation was a breeze and I enjoyed our inside cabin. It had plenty of space!
Onboard service was OK. I was erroneously charged a cocktail in a restaurant. It took 3 trips to guest services and the restaurant to get it reversed. They still didn’t reverse the entire charge, but I was done asking about it. Otherwise the service was ...
I went on this cruise to celebrate an important birthday and to try out the Studio offerings. The Studios are located on three decks: 10, 11, 12. I liked the studio cabin with the lights and window, it was cozy; the Studio Lounge was an excellent addition (needs more pillows). The lounge was convenient for coffee, meeting other solo cabin mates and meetings. I was surprised to only meet a ...
A little background on me: This was my 11th cruise, and I have been on several different cruise lines in the past (Carnival x3, Celebrity x3, NCL x1, Princes x1, Royal x2). So I hopefully have a good variety of experiences to draw from, and you can use this review to get an idea of what to expect onboard the Escape. I'm going to try to mention the things that stood out to me as good and bad ...
Our first cruise last year was on a smaller Royal Carribean ship, and we loved it. The only down side we found was that there weren't enough activities or entertainment for our age group (mid 50s). This is why we decided to try a much larger ship with another company. We had read many reviews and a large portion of these were quite negative. We were quite apprehensive and a bit disappointed ...
Cruise was horrible bad service. Vacation was wasted always waiting in a line for everything. Pool drained and closed 2nd & 3rd days. Also all hot tubs shut down. Shows cancelled after waiting for the show to start. Over 2 hrs to get off ship. Activities not available that were listed. Reservations at Cagneys steak house we were 10 minutes late and refused to serve us. Elevators were so slow ...
There were several things I liked about the cruise but there were a few things that Norwegian could work on.
Registration on line was horrible. Once all four of us checked in and we went back to check everything, the credit cards were saved to the wrong people. When I called to correct it, I was told we would have to correct it when we boarded. Well what is the point of on line check in ...
This is probably our 10th total cruise and at least our 7th on NCL. Me an my Wife are in our early 40's and had a 7 year old daughter that was traveling with us as well. We had a family balcony room on the 12th deck with easy access to the kids club. We were able to utilize the promo with the 5 free offers with airfare and transfer. Probably one of the best values that we have gotten to date on a ...
