This was our 24th cruise, and we went out of Boston to celebrate our anniversary and to avoid flying to Florida. We upgraded to a suite about 6 weeks before cruising and I would do that again just to take advantage of eating breakfast and lunch in their private dining rooms, Moderno and Cagney’s. Overall we had a nice cruise.

Back from the May 24, 2019 sailing of Gem to Bermuda. This was our 19th NCL cruise, and second time on the Gem. All prior reviews are posted on here.
We had an obstructed window room on Deck 8 that had two oblong porthole windows. Love these rooms for their value and location. No complaints here and our steward, Fan, was terrific.

We take the Boston to Bermuda cruise each year around this time. This year we left on May 3, The Gem is new to Boston, and I think it is an upgrade from the Dawn. It is very similar, but It is newer with many improvements. The layout is better, there is lots of outdoor deck space, and two pools outside. I liked the presentation of Picasso's biography The Norwegian Dawn had better entertainment. The comedian, I think his name was Jeff kept forgetting what he said and was drinking beer during his show. Not funny was several peoples' opinion.

This was a cruise of first for us as it was our 1st Norwegian Cruise (platinum on Carnival), 1st Bermuda cruise, 1st time leaving out of a Northern port (Boston), 1st time in a suite (Opal Penthouse 2 bedroom family suite), and 1st time staying in a port overnight.
