First time to the Arctic and we highly recommend it. This ship was very clean and the staff were fantastic! Lack of communication when we had a shuttle into town available. Some were free, others were $20. Ricco and Jeffrey from the Gatsby bar were so friendly and engaging. This is the 2nd time on the Star and it does not disappoint. Performers did not offer two shows a night. The ...
This was a return to cruising after a few years, and it certainly won't be as long before the next! Cruised on the Star from Tromso to Reykjavik, and loved it.
Food: always subjective, but thoroughly enjoyed Versailles MDR and the options offered there. Actually ate there a lot more than anticipated, as the buffet was so rammed at breakfast in particular. The crowdedness of the buffet was ...
I wanted to respond to all the negative reviews of this ship based on the May cruise where the ship didn't serve alcohol the first three days of a cruise around the U.K. I quizzed the bartenders and this did happen because of issues between Norwegian and the UK alcohol/tax authorities. But the reviews saying the food and service on this ship were bad are all lies. My wife and I were on the Star ...
We chose this cruise and ship because of the itinerary which included Norway and Iceland. The interior designers did a wonderful job, it is beautiful. And because it's a new ship it was sparkling. Purell stations in numerous locations, WC's lovely and numerous. We expected a different configuration in our cabin but the service was great.
Problems with finding NCL transfer agents at the ...
Embarkation was a NIGHTMARE. Hours waiting outside and completely disorganized. Never encountered anything like it ever with NCL or any other cruise line.
On board a paper was in our room notifying us of port changes. Apparently after reading reviews, this is a common occurrence, so we should have had a bit more notice. Since we didn't we had to scramble to cancel Isafjordor excursion and ...
My wife and I have been cruising (often twice a year) for over thirty years. We have cruised with NCL seven times in the past and were keen to try one of their new larger ships. Also we had never been to Iceland, and combined with a return visit to Geiranger, the Prima cruise seemed ideal. Sadly this was not the case.
We booked a suite. Over the past few years we have enjoyed the luxury that a ...
I was so excited to go on NCL Prima I had looked at the videos and thought wow! Reality is a different story. There were some good things about the ship. I enjoyed their restaurants especially Palomar and Le Bistro. Excellent! Most of the food was good in their other venues. I especially liked Indulge, this was a winner. However, their buffet was atrocious. It could hold maybe 400 people on a ...
We chose this cruise because we had sailed with NCL before and found their ships to be beautiful, with good food, entertainment, and service. We were excited to try the new Prima, and wanted to see Norway and Iceland. Everything the (mostly bad) reviews say is correct. People are visibly not happy on this ship. Every day there is a huge line for guest services, even 7 or 8 days into the trip. ...
We were so excited when we heard about this ship coming out, we watch numerous videos about it being built and then a lot of youtube videos from people on board. Unfortunately this never came close, and the disappointment of travelling on this ship soon set in.
From the moment of boarding which took over 4 hours waiting in line because of some technical issues with getting previous cruisers ...
Just finished ten day cruise with lots of interesting ports in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Overall was very pleased with the coordination in the ports, only did one shore excursion (as the ones offered by Norwegian seemed ridiculously overpriced, even with the $50 discount per excursion I was offered) but did several great self-arranged walking tours in the major ports ...
