Good food & beverage do not mask problems with staff training, ship limitations

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

I waffled a bit between a 'poor' and an 'average' review, but ultimately chose 'poor' because there were just too many things that we found annoying for our family of four. First, the pluses. The cabins are roomy and in pretty good shape. Food in the buffet was reasonably good (with the exception of scrambled eggs at breakfast, which could always be counted on to be cold). Main dining room ...

Relatively positive experience, but not entirely Blissful

Overall, had an enjoyable experience on the NCL Bliss on an 8 day voyage over Christmas 2019.  The Bliss is modern and clean, with plenty of activities and entertainment, and dining/drinking options and quality are good enough.  However, there are also some hiccups in the design, cabin noise, children's programs and crowded nature of activities.  For the cost, was a great value (especially over ...

Embarkation in Manhattan: Got on the ship in Manhattan. Went ok... but my dad needs a wheelchair. He can’t stand in the lines. They only had one wheelchair person for 4000 passengers. Took hours. More help would be better. They told us getting on that they no longer punch a hole in your card and that you have to buy a $20 pouch lanyard. They say this is because there is a chip in the card. ...

Just got back from the 8-day Norwegian Bliss (Bahamas & Florida from New York) Christmas cruise If you’re the type of person who likes to stay on board during port stops, then this maybe the cruise for you (my wife enjoys spending time on the ship, whereas for my kids and myself we use it as a floating transportation hotel mechanism to the islands) Pros: • Friendly staff • Immaculate ...

Biggest Disappointment

This was supposed to be my husband and I's honeymoon. Restaurants/ Service was great. Cabin was clean and decent. Activities on boat were incredibly lame. If you're not completely into Drinking, Trivia and food, you're kind of out of luck. Shows were great, Prohibition and Jersey Boys were great. Book it as early as possible Spa services were incredibly overpriced, that's saying ...

Disappointing Christmas Cruise

We took the Norwegian Bliss from New York to the Bahamas, from December 20th to the 28th. The cruise was very disappointing. The ship stayed in port Canaveral overnight, which was nice even-though it rained on both days. The next port was Nassau Bahamas, we stayed on the ship till 1 pm, then took a taxi to Cabbage beach. (The crew members were conducting drills on the ship that day so it wasn't a ...

I had booked this cruise in early August for my daughters birthday in December. The original itinerary was Miami, Freeport, Nassau and Great Stirrup Caye. I booked 2 cabins for myself and my daughter and her boyfriend (both 22 yrs old), I have completed many cruises on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian but this for me was just dreadful!! After hurricane Dorian damaged Grand Bahama Island in Oct ...

We were a party of 4 people and have always cruised with Royal Caribbean and wanted to try Norwegian. The ship is very large and updated and they do a great job of keeping it clean while you are cruising. When talking about the food here the buffet was not very good compared with our previous experience with Royal but when compared with the dining hall experience the food was very good and many ...

This cruise was for a family vacation. The food and dining was terrible. We made a reservation and still stood in line for almost an hour, 3 times!! We pre ordered water for our room, it never showed up, We were forced to stand in the customer relations line For 45 minutes, At which point they told us it is now in your cabin. We return to our cabin to find five waters, as we ordered 12! Back down ...

Caribbean Christmas

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

As with previous cruises (and future booked ones for now) I'm traveling solo, and this was my second annual Christmas cruise. Going into this cruise I was a little worried, I'd just gotten off the Harmony of the Seas which I loved and wasn't sure how this would compare, especially given that this would be my first back to back with the second week being very family heavy for Christmas. I'd read ...
